Does each marker have a good ground/connection to the body?

maybe the dimmer/wiper switch is dirty causing the dash light issue.
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

do you have parking lights ( front AND rear positioning function with license plate light )?---- they light on with sidemarkers too

do you have glove box light ?

do you have cigar lighter ?

All those lights have relation with one same fuse.

Cluster  have relation with same fuse than functions above too, BUT they have a second fuse from the light switch output to the cluster only, and is one of the top ones ( can't recall which one right now )

front parking and sidemarkers does have a common ground at a side of batt on radiator core support, but is the same ground that headlights too.

rear positioning function, license plate light and rear sidemarkers have a common ground too on trunk, at a reinforcement on rear driver side, but is the same ground than the brakes/turn/hazzard function

So if rest of exterior lights works, then is not a ground problem.

IF, REALLY fuses are ok ( glovebox is lighting on, would it mean at least the input to switch is ok ), then the only explanation should it be switch got damaged

sorry, license plate light is directly grounded to bumper, not with a wire...

It could be the switch then
