Help with Holley Electronic Choke

I converted this carb over to electronic choke from a manual choke.  Does not seem to be working very well as it is still really cold blooded and doesn't want to start very easily.  How is this linkage supposed to be arranged?  Also, for the ground wire, where's the best place to ground it to?  Here's a couple of pictures of it.

The link rod with the hole needs to be pushed further into lever so that the small hole is on the outboard side of the lever, then a linkage clip is installed in the hole. The red plastic arm then sits on top of the link that extends through the lever.
