    Hey guys,

I was wondering what kind of 69 Charger is considered to be the highest class in your opinion? Is a 69 hemi charger considered to be a higher class than a 69 RT/SE with a power sunroof?

Was wondering if this is how the class level goes?

     1.Daytona Charger
     2.Charger 500
     3.Hemi Charger R/T
     4.Charger RT/SE
     5.Charger RT
     6.Charger SE
     7. Base level Charger

Let me know what you guys think?

You need to clarify, are you talking, performance, luxury, Resale value, or just people personal opinion?  The SE was considered the luxury model the RT was the performance (you could break the RT class further by HP) The base charger was the middle of the road, and the Daytona was basicly built to meet racing legislation in order to compete.  so it was basicly a production race car.

What does it matter? Get the car YOU like best.....Unless you're buying a car to IMPRESS, by saying how much better it is over others....(rarer doesn't=better)

Highest class of that list, personnally, is the R/T-SE.....a wing car is worth more, but not higher class, especially in looks.

Khyron

All Chargers are "High Class" cars.

arn't you asking the same question twice?..

the R/T SE car is a more tractable luxury ride with all the power stuff while the hemi car is a more race type, personally i'd want the R/T SE car just because it's more suited to me where I live and what I like. It's an opinion i don't expecxt everyone to share but i do know four speed cars are more sought after then Autos... hope this helps and anwsers both of your threads...

This is pretty similar to the other question but for me, the 69 Hemi Charger RT or the 500 would be a hard choice as my number one.

Stupid Typo... :brickwall:
I know you couldnt get sunroof Daytonas. You needed a vinyl roof for a sunroof, and (in my opinion) no Daytonas left Creative with a vinyl.

:iagree:

I'm quite happy with my BASE CHARGER that left the factory with a 318/auto, bench seat, etc. which now has a 440/4spd., buckets, etc.  I like it better this way because I can make the car the way I want it and not have to worry too much about it being "correct".

Yes.

69_500

I'd break them down like this personally.

1 HEMI Daytona
2 HEMI 500
3 HEMI R/T
4 Charger 500
5 Charger RT/SE
6 Charger R/T
7 Charger SE
8 Charger

Now for some you'd have to take into consideration if they were 4 speeds vs auto's and if it was a console car or an AT on the column, and then by color but then you get into a list that is several hundred combinations deep.

nakita7

My list would be a bit different, Charger 500's are not good looking cars IMHO...

Hemidoug

If you are talking class as per the Manufacturer (as in price class) then there is no doubt the R/T SE was in the highest price class. The Daytonas and 500s were in a completely different class...they were not really a part of the price class structure of the Charger line...They were marketed completely different and separate then the Charger line. I think a lot of people are confusing price class and desirability...

Ghoste

I think he does mean desirability.  Note the other thread.

DAYTONA !!!!!!

:iagree:  especially when you add the S/E package.

But I'm more about which car I actually like better. Forget rare/higher class/worth more. Unless you are truly buying the car for investment (in which case the ONLY one that is money in the bank IS the Daytona. It's the rarest, most valuable Charger ever built) Buy the car YOU like better OR build a car to enjoy and drive that suits YOU.

Forget trying to impress anyone else.

69_500

So is class determined by what the vehicle cost originally then? If so them the 318 powered SE Charger that I sold way outclassed the Charger 500 that I have now. Sticker price on the 1969 Charger SE I had was $5,100. Sticker price for my Charger 500 was $3,900.

I think its all getting a bit gray in this day an age. I've owned two 383 automatic cars (sorry they were 68's but you get the idea). With the technology we have now, you can build what you want.

Well said :yesnod:,putting aside the desirability and value,I can appreciate the heritage of the daytona and 500 for their racing history, and having to make a certain amount for the public to be legal ,but IMO my vote is for a 69 R/T.One of the focal points to me on 69's IS the grill, and the recessed back window.Along with certain colors combined with vinyl tops.My all time fav has been for a 3x9 R/T,so landing a 3x9 R/T SE,the SE part was just an added bonus for me.Now with this reading this topic,I'd be curious to see what mine priced out around being pretty well optioned.

Danny, there's no room on your list for a 440 Daytona!   :whistling: :poke:

My list would be pretty similar to yours:

1 HEMI Daytona
2 Charger Daytona
3 HEMI 500
4 HEMI R/T
5 Charger 500
6 Charger RT/SE
7 Charger R/T
8 Charger SE
9 Charger

Like you said... if you factor in 4-speed vs. automatic, and then add other options like body/interior/stripe color, the list gets exponentially bigger.  I didn't differentiate between SE and non-SE cars in the low production models (C500/Daytona), since they're in demand enough that whether or not it's an SE doesn't make too much of a difference for most folks - including me.
