Hey Gang, I've been lookin around at getting some headers for my 318 69 Charger. I can not afford the TTI headers so I'm looking at Hookers and Hedmans. Anybody have any experience with either of these. Part numbers at summitracing.com are  HED-78056 and HOK-5901-1HKR.

I don't really know what to look for, so could ya'll help a newb out?

Thanx!

I have never had a 318 B-body so I don't know the troubles that you may have with them. What I do know is buy the best you can afford. I did a 68 Charger 383 with TTI's and best fitting headers I have worked with. Next where my Hooker's on my 68 Road Runner, not as good as fit but close and have held up well for 20 years now.

Worst set where Headman's in my 69 Charger 440, worst headers to date. One tube is againt the steering box and had to use a mini starter! Had to pull the steering colume out of the Charger.

With yours being a 318 will have more room than my big blocks but I would still buy the best you can get. How much where the TTI's and the Hookers? They are the only names I trust.

Honestly I would save up for the TTi , the headmans & hookers cause problems & you will regret not spending the extra $$ sooner or later

I've had the same set of Hedman's on my car for about 25 years and they are still going strong.
Because I'm changing my heads this winter I bought a new set of ceramic coated Hedman's since it will be easier to change them then.

If you switch to Champion RC type plugs instead of RN type you will get a little more clearance at #5 and #7 cylinders.

It's not a midlife crisis, it's my second adolescence.

$240.00 is a lot, but if you have fought with my Hookers (I like to see that ) like I did till I figured out the easy way to change the starter (first time took 6 hours) $240.00 will seem cheap. Is your shifter is on the column get the TTI's. My Runner was on the column but I had to make a floor shif out of her, was easyer than keeping it on the tree.

Thanks for the replies so far. I got the Hooker super comps at Summitracing.com, along with Summit's header back exhaust system.

$350 delivered for the whole shabang!
