The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

WOW! :o That lady has gone through alot of crap! :rotz: I feel bad for her. :pity:

On another note though,......(And I hate to speak of the dead in a negative way, but) you have a business, fame, children, endorsements, ect. but you don't at least have a living will? :shruggy: Seems irresponsible to me. :Twocents:

It's not like he didn't have an attorney on hand to handle his business dealings. Especially for the contract signing for the t.v. show!  :slap: I mean how hard would it of been to say, "hey I need a will drawn up!" :rotz:

"If you die without a will (referred to as intestate), California law will determine the beneficiaries of your estate. Contrary to popular myth, if you die without a will, everything does not automatically go to the state. If you are married or have established a registered domestic partnership, your spouse or domestic partner will receive all of your community property assets. Your spouse or domestic partner also will receive part of your separate property assets, and the rest of your separate property assets will be distributed to your children or grandchildren, parents, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews or other close relatives.

If you are not married or in a registered domestic partnership, your assets will be distributed to your children or grandchildren, if you have any-or to your parents, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews or other relatives. If your spouse or domestic partner dies before you, his or her relatives may also be entitled to some or all of your estate. Friends, a non-registered domestic partner or your favorite charities will receive nothing if you die without a will. The State of California is the beneficiary of your estate if you die intestate and you (and your deceased spouse or domestic partner) have no living relatives."
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I agree with Skip68, it didnt' look like a nice place to work!  Because of the people (could be bosses fault??).

Like when moral is down because of being worked to hard and whatever and he thinks the guys are going to get excited by yet another special project, oh yeah needs to be done in 6 weeks!

I haven't seen the show in a long time.  Guess I sort of lost interest.....................

Brock Samson

ya' he left a will,
leaving everything to me...
I gots the napkin right here.  :yesnod:

mikepmcs

No offense but the guy seemed like an ass, and the show(all 2 times I saw it) wasn't good tv at all IMO
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

LoneStar Mopar

They advertise that you can get a will for $30 on the radio. How could he have had such an automotive empire and no will?

mopar0166

Wasnt a big fan of what he did on the show or his work,  but some of his projects were good.  Still surprised that he died.

Bobs69

Is it just me or is there only so many times a "rat rod" can be made and still be considered an original?  These guys (Boyd & Foose) are on magazines posing with hot rods that look like many other before them or is that just me cause I'm not really into those cars?

Brock Samson

Those arn't and never will be concidered "Rat Rods"...

I've been wondering the same thing. :ahum:

A pro shop can't really build a "ratrod" per say......it's an oxymoron. Ratrods are built by guys on a low budget with whatever they can find....or they were. Now most are just abortions. Guys going lower and adding more crap (spiders, skulls, crappy welds, etc) to outdo the next guy....Shock and Awe....

Bobs69

well allright I was never clear on what Rat Rod really was........... but the cars seam to all have the same theme.

Blue Bear. :slap:

Drache

Did anyone think though that maybe there was a will and that no one has found it? My friend's grandfather had hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of antiques in his house when he passed away and supposedly no will. 4 months later after the family was going through lawyers and figuring out who should get what, lo and behold the will turned up inside the book on his bedside table.

Or he could be like my dad who is scared to right a will....  :shruggy:

I don't agree. Suppose a pro shop cuts out brackets with a torch and purposely doesn't grind off the slag or welds brackets on the frame then cuts them off with a torch and paints over them with six different color paints?

Then assembles a grease-encrusted transmission to a motor that has a rusty block, one orange head, one blue head and a yellow intake with a carb straight out of a junk yard.

I could go on endlessly; the finished product is what qualifies as a rat rod (ratty looking being the operative theme) not where it's built.

Then they are no longer a PROFESSIONAL shop now are they????? :nana:
If you know the history of where "ratrods" got their name and their origins, and what is happening now in the "movement", then you'd understand where I'm coming from. :icon_smile_big:

John_Kunkel

I understand where you're coming from but I humbly disagree. Just like the definition of "muscle car", the definition of "rat rod" is not 100% agreed upon my anybody.

As to not being a "professional shop", I have seen creations come from pro shops that make me gag worse than some rat rods but.......

I appreciate (hell, LOVE) then ethos of the rat-rod thing.  But IMHO it's really still a matter of degree.  Point of view.

If you deal in Ferarris and Lambos, then a factory original R/T mopar is a total "Rat-Rod" in comparison. Even when it's freshly shined up and wearing repro Coker redlines and steelies.

Conversely, a TRUE modern Rat-Rod does not include a vintage V8 wedge or Hemi.  That's not cheapo stuff anymore, that signals a middle-aged adult with money and years to devote to building his project.  If you wanna keep the integrity of the original movement, then you'd better start cutting up & modding a 1984 Cavalier or something.

Like a friend of mine recently said, "Hell, we built rat rods when we were kids 'cause that's all we had the money for but we didn't call them that, we called them hot rods".
