How should I refinish the rear license plate bracket, and light bracket?

I'm about ready to install my freshly rechromed rear bumper, and redyed fillers, but I've still got to refinish the license plate bracket/frame and the tag light bracket. They are both blasted clean. The license plate frame/bracket still has a plastic stand to hold up the license plate when you fill up, but I don't know if it should be painted or left. It feels plastic. I'm not going to do some expense, just would like to be in the ballpark and finish appearance.
