Ill be putting a front chin spoiler on my 73 and didnt know if I should take them off or not. What do you think?

FLG

IMO ditch both the rear and front bumperettes, car look alot cleaner...especially with a chin spoiler.

hey thanks! That will be my first mod when i get it next week. Taking those off, putting on the front chin spoiler and then putting the hood blackout on the bulge hood. :icon_smile_cool:

I ordered my chin spoiler from them, a tad bit slow, but hopefully worth the wait.

yes they all came with bumperets, the diff is just if with chromed base and rubber cushion ( deluxe option ) or complete solid rubber piece ( standart )... pic showing the standart one.

They all got them. The rears are much easier to take off than the fronts. My fronts are rusted on and the bolt is in such and awkward place that I can't get enough leverage.

bordin34

The rears are easy and only held on by 2 easy to reach bolts each.

For the rear i losened it as much as i could...then gave up and broke out the sawzall (mind you mine were rusted and missing one rubber) so i really didnt care. Havent did the front yet, will attempt and get back to ya.

I gotta agree with FLG and matt lose them  :yesnod: looks much cleaner imo

Charger1973

I took mine off when the entire bumper assembly was apart so I cant tell you any tricks for getting them off while still attached to the car.  I know they are a pain though...

I did the same with the 73 Wannabee, I think it looks much better.  Pulled the bumpers in as well to lose the filler pannel no one can find :brickwall:

SAME HERE!!! about a month ago some jerk on the highway cut me off and slammed on his breaks, for that quick second when I slammed on my breaks and knew that it wouldn't do much, I pictured me Charger-less for a while and a messed up front, having to chase parts...

nope. Came out all good...guy apologized for driving like a jackass, no damage on either car. thankfully.

as for the bumper fillers...if ones fillers start to look "not so good"...how does "pulling them in" look? I'm curious and how you go about doing it.

Gives it a clean look just like the 71-72s without them.  In fact for the rear you just change your bumper brackets to some from a 71 or 72 (they are shorter) and in the front you can adjust your bumper back if you elongate the mounting holes on the brackets a bit.

I dont have any good pictures on my computer at the moment but heres the best I can do right now.  I do have 1 more set of the 71-72 rear bumper brackets for $100 + shipping if anyone is interested, just send me a PM.

1973,

When talking with nacho at carlisle he recommended i go with a 72 filler neck as to not cause problems. How did this work out for you?

Yeah good call.  I always forget about that because I havent done it yet.  I have a larger size, locking gas cap and I can still get the gas cap off but its a very tight fit.  If I was actually driving my car rather than it sitting in the garage I would have made that a top priority though.
