The coolest car at my school was a rough "General Lee" replica made out of a 383/727 '69 Charger.

And it was mine.   :coolgleamA:

I ain't afraid to say....it was mine.  Went to a richy rich school that I didn't belong in(dad was in the Air Force and somehow went to this school due to where we lived)

Lots of rich snobby pieces of....kids that had all kinds of brand new junk, but when you looked over all their crap, way in the back row all by it's lonesome with an occasional 72 olds cutlass my other white trash buddy owned(actually the only kid I ever hung out with in high school) sitting near by was a 1970 Dodge Charger 500 (plum crazy baby) O0

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

I'm gonna have to say that it is a 1997 Supra. Totally stock, silver, and it looks like it just rolled off of the assembly line. Everything else is a pickup with straight pipes or something really boring.

There was a 71 Duster 340 , 4 speed and a 70 Limelight Green Cuda 383 magnum , 4 speed and of course my 71 340 Wedge Duster and my best friend's boyfriend had a 69 Roadrunner  :2thumbs:

Balboa H.S. 1975.

Besides the drug dealers? well we won't count them and their chevy and caddy lowriders...
There was Val's boyfriend Dave's '66 Convert 427 Vette - all red in and out...
and one of dudes in our group "stoners unlimited"   :D had a sweet jade green '56 Nomad with a black tuck and roll Int. a real tijawanna job and cragers w. micky thompsons, that was my fav between the two. but i never rode in the vette (he hated me cause Val liked me)  :shruggy: which he traded for a '68 Shelby 500 after graduation.
one of the guys also had a nice '73 Dodge van, that was what sold me on them and why i sought out one as soon as I could afford to in '82.
those are the ones that stand out in memory, my best friend fred "crazy fred" got to drive his mom's 318 Gold Duster it was baby blue with white stripes and blue int. a couple years later he got one of the new downsized mustang II mach 1s, it was also baby blue... i didin't like it but that duster sure hauled ass...
great thread idea...  :2thumbs:

BTW: Crazy Fred now has a candy apple red '69 428 super cobra jet that's been in pieces since the third time it got wrecked about 15 yrs ago...  :rotz:

My 73 Charger, I guess...
about the only other car I actually remember is the 4-door Chevy something-or-other that showed up to football practice with a wet paint job...
that was rolled on..
and it was ship hull red oxide paint...

My friends drove the coolest cars: 1997 Z3, 2003 3 series, 1997 5 series, 1986 Rx-7, 1983 944, 2000 celica, 2003 Tiburon, my 1998 SHO, and then the muscle cars, 1971 chevelle SS, 1970 hemi cuda, and 1969 Dodge Charger. :coolgleamA:

The kid that owns the Cuda also owns the 3 series, and use to have a AMG Mercedes, and a Delorean.
He is also the kid that sold me my car (it was his 16th birthday present, he wanted a hemi cuda instead so they sold the charger to me)

The coolest cars at my school were;
a '69 Judge (all beat up...still cool),
a '78 Macho T/A,
my friend's '68 396 Cramaro,
two different '69 Z28's,
another friend's '70 GTO (we rebuilt his 455 in his garage),
some chick had a white '71 Olds 442 convertible,
one kid got to bring his Dad's '67 Vette (small block) to school now & then,
a "new" kid had a beautiful '73 'Cuda senior year,
and I drove this. :)

There were three of us with hotrod trucks back then, the fastest was an indian kid with a 350 shortbed '76 Chebby.
Not once in all my years of high school did any student bring a 2nd Gen Charger to school. :(

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

There were a bunch, the 70's were not so bad for car guys in high school.  They were just cheap used cars no one wanted.  I had a 69 Super Bee in my senior year and an unmentionable (but quick) Ford before that.  A buddy had a Road Runner GTX, there was a 69 Firebird in the lot, a bunch of Z28's and Mustangs.  All the usual stuff I guess.  :shruggy:

Harlow

There were a few 60's mustangs a 72 chevelle and I drove my '68 Satellite a few times. There were some nice newer cars but I don't think anyone actually owned the car, they were they're parents cars...real nice cars though. There was one kid that got a new FJ cruiser bought for him when they first came out.

uud looz

I'm not saying that mine was the coolest car but I can say that it was the only car in the parking lot with a hood scoop, it was a 78 buick regal that I stuffed a pontiac 455 down into. My dad used to say it would pass anyhing but a gas station. At the time all the kids with the mustang 5.0's sure didn't like me.

2much2learn

my friend jack's 75 corvette stingwray, all red with matching interior, and stacy's dodge ram "RUMBLE BEE"
I say " determined to restore the Charger" SHE hears " Stubborn to throw your money away"   dx_Xb

Truman H.S. 1982 or 3? We remember some senior stoner dude that had a jacked-up - sittin high in the back, that is, '69 Charger and we though he and his car was cool as snot.

Kevin68N71

My 1968 no doubt.  One guy had a Road Runner but he was always trying to put a race engine in it and was in his garage more than driving.  Another guy had like a 1976 Chevelle, but it wasn't much.  The closest thing is a guy had a new 1979 Trans Am, but his mommy and daddy obviously bought it, it was probably his mom's car.
Do I have the last, operational Popcar Spacemobile?

this was my high school car , great gto

1978:

the 'coolest' car was a tricked out 240z some rich dude owned.

the 'baddest' car belonged to a dude called Buddy and was a  AMX with a blower.

I had a real nice 69 Nova, burnt orange with blue pearl and a white interior. very clean car. it was a lowly 305 ac car, but a set of crappy headers and some cherry bombs magically transformed it.....

I owned 9 or more 2nd gen chargers during h/s. My '70 R/T was my daily driver, but my '68 charger w/a 440 wedge held the record for being fastest car during that time as well, most likely to this day as well. 23 years later.
