I love the draw-people-in high quality picture, and the fact of rallyes on the front, and steelies on the back. That tells me this thing probably had a hitch at one time.

Many older cars that had hitches or towed at one time would have steelies on the back. I have seen it tons of times in magazines, and ebay ads. There was a story about a Dyno runs at carlisle in a magazine I have from a few years back, and a third gen ran on the dyno pretty good. This was in the caption "Dan's 1973 Charger is a subtle, yet powerful B-Body. The steel wheels on the back for towing, and Magnums up front may be strange, yet we have seen it before."

The VIN tag is screwed to the dash with rusty phillip's head scews I would question wether or not it even belongs on this hulk

i would buy it if i had the cash to be honest.  it is a 68 (imo the best year 2nd gen) and i have seen worse.

there are to many parts missing . that'll get real expensive finding all the right parts in decent shape.

That was MY first thought as well. Looks like the screws have been there a while judging by the rust.

There were only 17,665 RT Chargers produced in 1968 with the 440 Magnum 375 Horsepower, and there are not many left

A:   Its actaully neither. As I said the drivetrain is gone, including the rear end. I was decoding the fender tag and that is what it said. I have no idea what was in it. Thanks. Brad[/color]

Looking at the hubs and rear wheels, I'd say its some kind of trailer axle.
