Dang! thats beyond wrong, I think thats illegal.
He says "This great car was purchase by my father from the first owner, in Dec. of 1969, we have this car ever since" and adds that it was ordered with a 440.
How did you get a pic of the original tag?

Ghoste

The tag still is for a 383 automatic car but yes, other than that there is a lot to give you reason to stay away.  And people wonder why rebodying is such a sin.  Yes, I realize that nothing says this car is a rebody, but for him to claim it's an original ordered 440 powered Super Bee with a four speed and offer the repop tag which clearly shows it not.  And we won't even get into the blatant color change and stripe addition.  Has anyone questioned this guy on this stuff?
Here is mine, I'll let you know his answer.

"You do realize that NO Super Bees were ever sold with 440 four barrels? Also, even though you have a repopped fender tag to change the color from the original white to green and you added a stripe, you forgot to change the codes for the engine from 383 and automatic trans."

charger_fan_4ever

I'd like to know who does these repop tags. You have to provide your original or a high definition photo in order to get a reproduction  right??

My original fender tag is really rusty, guess i'll store it away in a safe place to prove the reproduction from data tags is legit.

www.datatags.com I believe, but usually require an etch of the original one, or build sheet?

At least he answered me quickly.
And I quote...

"Hi thanks for the lesson, but I did not said that was a maching number car, this was change hands from generation, but N.A.D.A. shows a super bee coupe 440 3 plus 2 rgis car is been green as long as i can remember, as per Dodge there were special order cars, thru the line and changes were made, at the dealers level as chevrolet did with the Yankos, there send to Yenko to get this cars done, the car is for sale and have lots of records, you most own that yellow Super Bee in Canada sorry thats all i KNow about the car"

I figure it isn't worth replying and pointing out that by claiming it was ordered new with a 440 he is in fact implying that it's if not numbers matching, at least correct.  I think he very much knows what he has and what he really wanted to tell me was, "I no giving harry rat Krap abowt legel of kar jus wannt big Yankeee dollar in wallit know piss over and stiop to bugging me".

While I don't mind green, wouldn't it have had more appeal staying white?

No inspection marks on the new tag, dead giveaway for St. Louis cars.

And where's the A12 code?  What's V38 (convertible top delete) & N21?

My decoder ring has dead batteries.

I like the fact that he has a loan against the car, so he doesn't have the title. You have to give him your money so he can pay the loan off to get the title for you.

They DO exist.

The only Super Bee I ever seen that existed in a 440 4 bbl was the 1971. Even though the records say none built as of 10 years ago at least 3 were known to exist & I think 26 now. LEON
