What's a blank fender tag worth?

On the '74 that I'm parting out, it has a blank fender tag.  I remember seeing some on eBay a while ago, haven't seen one in a while.  How much were those tags going for?  I'm thinking of posting this for all the eBay loons to get to (one of the few things I'll actually put on)

Might have a mark on it, usually there inspection tags.

No marks on it, just a blank fender tag.  Same size, stamping and everything.

I didn't see the ones on e-bay but the people replacing the tags don't seem to have much trouble making new ones so I couldn't see it being worth much.  :shruggy: :Twocents:

:iagree:   :shruggy:  Kinda like having a rare book with no words in it. ;D
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

I sold a rolls worth of blank quarters for 1600$. When the new quarters started coming out, a few made it through with nothing on them but the ridges on the edges. I was working as a teller at the time and noticed them when I busted the roll open and dumped the quarters into the drawer. I had to actually close the store, drive to an ATM, and get the 10$ to buy the roll.

Anyways, they were probably worth more like 2000$ but I was 16 and I had just bought my first Charger.

The moral of the story is sometimes blank things are worth a shit ton of money!

Well my mind might be worth a fortune then  :smilielol: :scratchchin:

I put them on ebay with a buy it now of $100. Sell them everytime. I come across quite a few blank ones on 72 and up B & A Bodies.

Why did the factory put blanks on cars?  Is there any significants to this?

Who knows, if they're more common on A-bodies maybe they were blank on plain Jane cars?  I'm sure all of those folks paying stupid amounts (and 100 dollars is stupid) for blank ones are using them to correctly restore cars that are missing them and not using them to "re-option" cars.  :insertsarcasm:

I got one on a 73-4 b body parts car that had 2 tags (this being #2).  I kept it for my car so as to alarm those that have to nit pick everything that isn't original at a car show.

Charger_Fan

Maybe it's a repop tag & someone screwed it on the car so it wouldn't get lost, while they looked for a stamp set. ;D

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Let me know how much you get for it. If it's enough I'll make my own jig and start pounding blank "NOS" fender tags out to finance my Charger restoration. :yesnod:
