I'll post it here for you. For some reason I have a problem with following a link posted on a Charger board to an E-body board to read about a Charger. :shruggy: :nana:

"Hi

Yesterday I went to see my Charger!

Looks like one persons Idea of perfect and my Idea of perfect are two different things

Well here is my overview. When I baught the car I was concerned that the person that went to look at the charger did not check it over as thoroughly as I would. However, being a favour done after work for me and for no cost, im gratefull. After I posted the pictures of the car that guy took for me at minneapolis and posted them here. Someone here said "thats pretty solid looking for a car that came out of minneapolis (full of salt)". That then got me concerned about the bottom of the car and I started thinking "did that guy check the bottom propperly or am I getting a paper (rusted out) bottom when it gets here?" So overall did not know exactly what to expect.

Well I went to look at it. To my supprise, the bottom of the vehicle is very very good. Wheel wells perfect, trunk floor perfect, fuel tank looks brand new, springs solid, differential looks awesome, rear tailights work fine, cant complain  , The dash is NOT Cracked... 1st car Ive ever had without a cracked dash    Engine bay is perfect.   ANNNNND, I always thought these cars are manual steering in general? Mine is power steering... so thats an added supprise to me.  . I also love the white ball Hurst shifter. Prefer that over pistol Grip!

Now we go to the problems (due to my version of perfect).

Chrome strippings around the side windows = scratched and all need repolishing including the mirror

Doors close but are not dead straight (the gap where it closes is abit tighter up top then bottom).

Passenger (right side) door cant be opened from the outside and seems to be missing the knob (the thing that u press to lock on inside). - Might be just unhinged inside the door and sitting in there.

Interior does have few spots on corners of some sort of black smudge on it (but not rips or tares anywhere).

Headliner in the corners is a bit loose, so it looks wavy (wrinkled like a blanket) rather then smooth. Maybe thtas how its meant to be? It is in perfect condition though

Headlights, they switch on, 1 doesnt work, and, when the grill folds in, where the headlights sit (inside that panel thing) on the left side it is missing. Also the grill gets stuck when u switch head light off so you have to manualy push it abit for it to close back over.

The front break/blinker lights dont seem to work.

Next to the front blinker/break lights the pannel is a little cracked (which you will see in picture).

There is some bog in the passenger door up top. (was told this before purchase so its ok).

The dash face is a little loose (if u push with finger it moves in and out..)

The inside door handles are chrome but rough (needs repolishing).

The sides of the rear valance panel that join onto the quarters are seam sealed... could have been done better and the gap made same distance (probbably as good as ur gonna get factory though).

Also the rubber seal on the trunk was put on incorectly, someone stuck the rubber seal inside the guttering where the water is supposed to run out from.   - it needs to be moved in 1 inch.

The rear stripe is not put on straight and has some leaked bits (the stripe has some black leak marks where it went too far here and there) but again was told about this before purchase as well.

Windows dont wind down as easy as they should (driver window you gotta pull on with ur hand while turning knob, gets jammed near top after that is fine)

Emergency Break needs adjusting... doesnt hold propperly.

No seat belts?

Well for what I have paid for this... I cant expect to get a polished out, restored, none scratched chrome, perfect matching lines around whole vehicle (that is the joins of doors, trunk, hood lid etc) though it would be nice to get a 100k car for what I paid

The owner didnt try to sell something that isnt to me which is also good.

So overall this is how I feel about it.

O yes... the pictures... well I DID TAKE THEM! though they wont be some propper photos, just a general "snap snap snap".

BUT

I gotta work out how to stick them on this dinasour of a computer. So again, you will have to wait.

Now that Ive seen it, I must say, the shape of the charger is killer. It just looks fast as hell the way the rear quarter has that subtle curve in it towards the door and how the roof stretches back (the sail panels). I must say between the 70 Challenger and the 68 Charger, the charger is my kind of shape and to me looks faster than the challenger due to that quarter/roof. Its like its going so fast the wind is stretching the car out. It suits me perfectly. Well I always wanted 1 since i was 6, now I got 1 and I love it!

I always wondered how Mopars sound like, as I owned a trans-am 5 years ago, and I loved the chevy sound (smooth rumble but deep) Always on videos and stuff the mopars sound like trucks about to stall (though they dont) in neutral.. but in person.... its only got a 383 motor in it but HELL does it sound awesome. It pissed all over the chev sounds I remember. Touch that gas and GROWL (fast hits). I LOVE IT!

Its a SERIOUS looking muscle car.

So I dont regret getting it and Im so glad I got it to replace my challenger. I was always uming and aring "did i do the right thing or not, but the challenger but this but that" not anymore. Charger all the way for me.

I'd rather stay here if you don't mind.

Be sure to thank Paul again for looking at that car. I'd say he did a pretty good job checking it out, based upon your comments.  :yesnod:  And by all means post photos when you get them!  :2thumbs:
