In the New for 1969 link on my registry site I added pics of original ordering documents for a 69 Hemi Charger.

Thought they were pretty interesting to see what your dealer would fill out with you when you were ordering YOUR car in 69!

Here are some pics of the car

its funny to read that a "radio" was an option.   not cassette or cd player, but an actual radio or nothing!

Nice info Chris.

I was looking at the original window sticker and saw the A33 axle package that came standard with the 440 or 426 4 speed called out. Then a little later the D56 axle ratio is noted. The 3.54/3.55 gear was already a standard part of the A33 package.  :scratchchin:

That's pretty cool!

Site's lookin' good, BTW.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Chris G.

The site is really looking good dude . I love green cars with a white top. I am almost positive every '69 R/T was a stripe delete car. I would have ordered one like that back in the day just to get that cool badge on the side.

Polygon

Hi, I wanted to make a comment. The 69 R/T on your cool website has a black bumble bee stripe and a luggage rack from the factory. Kind of neat.

Hopw you don't mind me posting the picture.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I'm glad you like it.

Yes the luggage rack was a neat option and quite rare.   That pic is a factory ad.   Notice the woman kneeling is denting the roof?

PS---welcome to the site

Any idea where that pic might have been taken? Very cool background. Almost looks like palm trees and a small island back there.

I would buy that. I think more than a few American cars were unveiled overseas for some reason.

If I'm not mistaken, the 67 Cougar was unveiled somewhere in Spain.

That is what I was thinking as well. The architecture looks too "old world" for something in the states. Reminds me of something you might find in Greece or Italy.  :shruggy:  BTW those are total guesses.  :)

My guess is Florida. I remember reading once, that Chyrsler would bring cars here to a test area.( south of Naples?) I saw an old factory photo of a 72 Challenger with Fla plates.

There are many areas here, that have Spanish influence.

And that roof is bending a little bit!!!

I use to live up in St. Augustine, FL where Ponce de Leon first landed. It is north of Daytona Beach. The Spanish influence is very strong in that area as well. It doesn't quite look like the background in that add though. I see the statues have figures balancing baskets on their heads. I suppose that is a common practice in many cultures like Africa, South America, India, and Asia? Any others?

Your site looks great man.  Beaverton Dodge, they've been thru several different names but still at the same place.  I bought my hemi there.  They're one of the few Mope dealerships left up here that are still at their original ma, pa place of birth.

I know where those pix of the green car were taken, my back yard. :)

Yes that car was from WA.

Chris,

That's the car we spoke of last week, right?  Did you get the scans/pics from Stephan, or from the ad when he bought it?

Incidentally, I noticed on the order form that the Vinyl Top was written down as 1X (black), whereas the build sheet and window sticker show it to be 1W (white).  Wonder if the factory changed it on him, or if he changed his mind before the order went in??

Those are very cool...

Yeah thats the one.  I got the scans from him.  car was loaded with orig paperwork.  Even had the original dent in the fender, broken antenna and dent in the cowl in the shape of the guys head that got hit by the car while on his bike as well!
I noticed the color change as well.  Never really got into it when I saw the car because he didnt know why either

Did anyone notice that on the order form you could order the Hemi on the normal Charger?

Yes, I saw that too.  Except for the infamous bronze press photo car, I don't know if any were made that way though.

Makes ya wonder though, don't it?

I realize I might be a bit late gettin' to the party, but I did bring something.

I recall us wondering where this publicity photo was taken for the 1969 advertisements and we figured it could be overseas or perhaps somewhere in FL.  It's obvious it was discussed in this thread and I think it might have been mentioned in another.

Anyways, it was not something that was keeping me up at night, but I did stumble across some photos on the www and I recognized the background, sure enough they were taken at the same location.

Vizcaya Gardens near Miami, FL.

Shakey

Look what Wilma did to it, just around the time we were discussing this last Fall.

What a shame!

Great detective work there, Mike!!!   :scope:

That place really did take a beating, didn't it?  Definitely a shame.

I'm glad i dont have to worry about ocean front property here in Minnesota..... ;D....... :-\
