how do the MOPAR parts #s codes work ?

do the numbers tell you what year they are from  ?

for instance 3751067 is the part # from a 73-74 B body HP drivers side exhaust manifold so does 37 mean 1973 ? or does the 3 mean 1973  :shruggy:

General rule of thumb for parts numbers:

First number:
1=50's
2=60's
3=70s

Second number = first year of use

So if 28 are the first numbers, it's probably from a '68 model.

When you get into the 70's numbers this changes as 1970 model year parts tends to start with 34. If you can remember that, then a 37 number would probably be a '73 PN.

The numbering system is not exact, especially if the PN carries over for a couple of years, but will at least get you close.
Seeking information on '69 St. Louis plant VINs, SPDs and VONs. Buld sheets and tag pictures appreciated. Over 3,000 on file thanks to people like you.

  :iagree:  That's exactly correct in theory -  and the best possible answer anybody could give.  :2thumbs:

Although like most things Mopar, it isn't absolute.  (but pretty close)
