Ok. I'll try reading between the lines. Tell me if is what you're trying to say: "Hey guys. I just found a promo picture of the Smallville episode where Tom Wopat shows up on the set with a '69 Charger. I'm excited. Are you?"

Thanks man. As for the "long time no see", I've been very busy the last time. But I'm totally back on track..

Once again, thanks for the welcome back   ;D

Please tell me that one of the 69 charger is from an old epesode of knight rider.  :icon_smile_sad:

I'm going to be sick if there bringing back that show and blowing up a 69 charger in it.  :icon_smile_angry:

Yep.. like I mentioned on my PictureTrail account, that orange Dodge Charger was in an episode of Knight Rider. In the upcomming Smallville episode (the blue Charger), the Charger won't get blown up..  :icon_smile_approve:

I once heard, while Wayne Wooten was picking up the Generals back in 1991/1992 at Warner Bros., there was one car in the fleet of Generals with the same color combi!

Strange... or...   ???

Dale The Bold

It's a '69 converted to a '68.   It's Stuntman's car (remember the one that got t-boned and then repaired?).   Underneath that paint is a General Lee.

Well, I think there were more than one identical Chargers for this episode.   Don't worry, all are alive and well to my knowledge.

I remember that Knight Rider ep, I saw that one not too long ago.I remember that the 'plot' was to find some schmoe during a race where every car had a unique fuel, the charger had, of course, whiskey !
Damn that show sucked....

I read about Wopat being on smallville, why I still watch that show I dunno, I'll grow up one day I suppose.
Anyway, where John still looks good and healthy, Wopat doesn't look so great anymore. And he's what? 3 years older ?
What does he do anyway? Still play and record music? I haven't seen him on tv since the Dukes reunion movies and some show called Cybill but that's a while ago.
Oh and maybe they won't blow it up, but it'll be jumpin' ! Or whatever's left of a charger will be anyway. How many totalled is that this year ?
Anyone keeping track ?

As to my knowledge.. and reads at the cglfc.com forum, they (the Smallville crew) used 2 Chargers. One original '68 close-up car, and one second-unit "69-to-'68" converted Charger (Stuntmans General Lee).

The second-unit car indeed survived the jumps. And is back in its original General Lee uniform.

It did? What did they jump ?  A puddle ?
And was 'jumps' correct or a typo? You're making me curious now, does it air tomorrow or is it next week or so ?

It is a TV show.  I think it is kinda like a modern day version of Leave it to Beaver but instead of sayin' stuff like "gosh darn Wally" they say more modern lingo such as "like, damn it sista".

Just 6T9 CHGR

Never watched it myself but I think its like a prequel to Superman????

Right, Smallville aka Superman the early years. Had great potential and does have it's moments to be sure but overall it's Dawsons creek in a different setting, teenage stuff.

Sort of.  If Dawson were to throw tractors, shoot fire from his eyes, and run at about the speed of sound.  Those boring teen "dramas" have nothing cool.

What the heck are you talking about? It's a show about Superman as a teenager. John Schneider plays his dad.

He's been doing a lot of stage acting on Broadway and such. He had a leading role in Annie Oakley, or whatever it was called. I think Reba MCcintire (sp?) played Annie.

Hee hee, same story here, ask Emily  ;D
It's been a while since I read a supes comic or any other for that matter but I was eagerly awaiting this show when first rumors turned up so I was kinda dissapointed. It's not like they stay true to the comics or anything and that's a shame. I'm telling ya, the first time supes takes to the sky the entire Smallville community will go oh it's Clark, no way he can hide it now.
But it's a fun show and certainly has strong points, like a great Schneider as pa Kent and apart from last weeks ep season 5 has been very nice so far. Now fly dammit !

LOL.  I am watching season four re-runs (I didn't start watching it until this summer and am trying to catch up), and I routinely find myself wondering when he is gonna fly   I consider that show a guilty pleasure, but I watch it religiously...I have Tivo.

I started picking up comics when I was in my early teens and I just really dig them.  Sometimes I laugh when I read some of the books I thought were cool as a kid, but some of them still are pretty good.  Almost anything by Frank Miller, Alan Moore, or Neil Gaiman is going to be a pretty good and more adult read...and then there are the X-books, Batman, Spiderman, Wolverine, etc.........  I haven't bought any in a looonnnnggg time, but I go to almost every comic book based movie that comes out :yesnod:

I guess I never really grew up, and now that I'm 31, it doesn't look like there's much hope that I ever will ;)

I'm hopeful for the new Superman flick coming june 30th, very curious how X men director Singer will do but it looks good so far (except the suit)
You can watch the diary on the shooting process at www.bluetights.net  (hee hee)
I find it impossible now to read any golden or silver age Supes or Batman comics, way too campy and those are really just for kids.
I think one of the last Supes comics I read was around the return of series, you know where Doomsday knocked his lights out and he returned some months later.
Those were good comics, at least people died and blood dripped from the pages, ok I'm sick I know... :icon_smile_big:
Now where's The worlds finest'......

Vainglory, Esq.

Yeah, Wopat sure does look the worse for wear.  Although he was almost 10 years old than Schneider, right?  Wasn't Schneider like 17 when he auditioned?

Doc74

According to Imdb Wopat was born 9-9-51 and Schneider 4-8-54.
I remember reading an interview with Schneider saying he just moved with his family from NY and they wanted a good old boy for the show, so he went in swearing like a bat out of hell, 5 o'clock shadow and a fake accent, lied about his age too to get the part so 17 could be it, but if he was born in 54... and the show aired in 79....how long was preproduction in those days ???

EDIT :

On another page it says Schneider was born 4-8-60 so he does indeed differ for nearly 10 years with Tom, well that explains a lot. What comes to the world if one cannot even trust imdb..

btw have you seen Fantastic 4 ? Is it worth renting ?

volk68

I haven't seen it yet.  I heard it sucked, but I will rent it anyway.  I seem to like a lot of movies that most critics think suck, though, so I might enjoy it anyway.  Also on my list of comic based movies I still have to see:

Sin City
Constantine
Elektra

I heard Elektra and Constantine sucked, but I will still probably rent them anyway.  So far my favorites are:

Batman Begins
X-Men
X2
Spiderman
Spiderman 2
Blade

The first Superman movie has always been my favorite with the first Spidey following closely but Batman begins kinda leaped to that spot and would be first if Superman the movie wasn't too old to compare .
Sin city is very special, I liked it. I also liked The Hulk altough it was too long and a not so great ending but it had a nice comic style and feel.
