THE COLONEL

Does anyone have a picture of this car.  I was told it is a Charger painted like a coke bottle...for obvious reasons, but a friend had seen this in person and told me about it, and I have searched and can not find anything on it anywhere. :shruggy:

From the Nats...

Coke sucks  :nana:    I prefer Pepsi  :2thumbs:

From what I heard,  the guy built this out of his own money and was hoping to get Coke to hire him for PR work or to buy the car  :shruggy:    He was hitting up the Harris pubs marketing rep to get Rick or Cliff to do a shoot on it.   No dice.

It did come out really nice.   I just don't like Coke  :loser:

I guess that could have backfired on him as well, like Coca Cola suing him for using their junk on his car without permission.  I'm sure that was discussed on the other thread.  Nice car though.

I'd drive it, no problem, but I'm a Fresca man myself.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

THE COLONEL

Well, I see why now I couldn't find it.  I did type that in the in the search box, but I didn't spell Coca-Cola as Co"k"a-Cola.

I think that is cool  Thanks for the pictures! ;)

I love that car. I think that is sweet.

As for Coke or Pepsi. . . Diet Coke for me here. It's like crack for the wife and myself.

  imo.  :pity:
funny Coke wouldn't bite I wonder what the back story was on that decision, probably the usual Corporate B.S.
It's amazing how far up their asses these Corp. types can get their heads to go.

That Coke car is BADASS. There are so many details you miss without looking closely. I would love to see it in person.

I bet Coke won't pay because it is already done. Every show it goes to they get FREE advertizing. Why pay now?

I lived in Pennsylvania until 1982. We drank RC there. When we moved to San Antonio Coke was more prevolent. I would rank them 1. RC 2 Pepsi 3 Coke. Too bad I don't  drink them anymore :bawling: ....doc says no caffine for me.  :nono:

I do...all bad.

I just plain prefer CC over Crown Royal. I prefer CC over anything including beer.

I agree, I wouldn't do that to my Charger, but that one is pretty cool.  There are a couple new VW Beetles and a Mini around here.  One Beetle and Mini is painted up with Ms. T Pierogie logos and the other is painted like a Just Born Marshmellow Peeps Chick, with a huge chick on the roof.

There is a diner right outside of town that doesn't serve Coke or Pepsi, they serve RC Cola.  I remember drinking RC in the mid 80's when I lived in CA.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Hey Brian,

Sorry you don't enjoy Coke, but am glad you enjoy the car. If they had of called the Charger "the Car with the Pepsi Bottle Lines" then I g'arntee you'd be looking at a Pepsi Car.

Shafi Keisler brought Cliff Gromer and Rich over to see the car, and that's when I told Cliff all about it. We never got beyond the hood. After it belched for Cliff, he laughed, and said this is our third car (to shoot.) It was photographed @ the airport behind the track there in Columbus, and will be featured in the April issue (or the second issue) of 2009.

And I've got part of the site up for anyone who wants to read more about it. www.cokecar.com

This is a very logical question, and one I'm happy to answer. With Coke, you have to create the product to show it. The "realness" can't be translated by flat artwork or pictures, which I spent quite a bit of time on prior to any building. Coke is such a corporate monster that to get their attention you'd better come out swinging, or driving a Coke bottle painted car. :)

Thanks for bringing this up.

Steve, I know how good you are with your art...did you help design it?

Col,

Yep, you know me, a bubble off plump an all.

I designed the Coke Car 2 years before we even thought about building it. I love rendering cars and illustrated boards with the side, front and roof shots of the car. This made it easier to recreate in a larger scale. Even though a bit cumbersome.  I sat and stood, and laid in every conceivable position imaginable to reach the metal with my airbrush.

If I didn't have back problems before this, I do now.
