Guns N Rotors

I am considering buying this truck.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4584635302&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

Does anyone know what the legal issues are? Title transfers, taxes, Canadian ownership to US?

                                                              Thanks,

You should change the post title to something like "Question to all semi truck owners & members with knollage of them" so Drailed & Lowprofile will read this as they were/are owner operators. Just my  :Twocents:  I know we have a few more truck drivers here on the board too but I don't remember who. Todd Wilson and Strat seems to know there trucks too though.

Sorry I can't help you personally however here are some links that will get you started with your research.

It shouldn't be too tricky bringing a vehicle into the United States from Canada, when it is the other way around it can get frustrating re: adding French decals to the vehicle (air bag saftey notices, all underhood decals ect.)

Guns N Rotors

Shakey,

Thanks for the links. I found this site and I don't think it's going to be worth
the hassle... Too bad, I really like that truck :(

I'll keep looking for something on this side of the line.

Hey Guns, do you have to have a cabover, or would a conventional work too? I remember Drailed said a while ago, his old Marmon conventional was up for sale again for like $5,000. I think it needed a few things though like the original aluminum wheels were gone.

No, I don't Need a COE. I need a truck to haul excavators, dozers, backhoes from job to job. All local stuff.
That KW is just a cool truck. I always loved BJ & The Bear when I was a kid... I thought it would be a neat
truck to have. I think it's in my price range, too bad it's in Canada.

You might have better luck getting answers if you start your own thread.  Before doing that, try searching this site.  I think the topics has come up recently.  Try those links above and do some research on those sites.  Your answers will be in there.  Good luck and post some pics of the car.  :icon_smile_big:

Are you gonna get a stinky f--kin' monkey to ride around in the cab with you?  :icon_smile_big:

You'll spend more time cleaning his s--t or changin' his diapers.  :icon_smile_big:

Shakey,

You might be on to something here! Do I have to pay Workers Comp on a chimp?
Social Security? Will he show up for work everyday...On time? This could be great!

I have seen worse come out of the Union Hall.

Hey, You can train him to drive & pay him in Bananas!

Buying a commercial vehicle out of Canada is a real pain, especially from a private seller. Tons of paperwork!!
You are much better off buying down in the states. Looks like DodgeChargerGuy found you what you were looking for!   Good Luck.

Hey Guns, I just found this thread and was curious if you found a truck yet or were still looking. Im not sure if my old Marmon is still for sale, he wasnt advertising it when i found it but he said he would sell it to me. I havent been over that way in a few months because i know i might end up buying it just to have and it will cause problems with the wife on the homefront ::) but i would love to have it back. Theres a nice 2000 freightliner classic condo cab here by me for sale for $19k, im sure you could get it for less. Theres plenty of trucks here in the states cheap, i wouldnt hastle with buying one in Canada, although the cabover KW would be cool to have.
