What do you call those spring loaded attic doors with the steps in them?  You know the ones like the scene in "Christmas Vacation" when Clark goes to hide the gifts in the attic and he takes the steps in the chops.  And are there any online diy plans for making them?

Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Thanks John.  :2thumbs:  You know, for some reason I had this idea in the back of my mind that you would be the guy who answered this question. :icon_smile_big:

I got mine from Lowe's for something like $80.

Ghoste

No Lowes around here.  We have a Home Depot but it is nearly a staffless store-find it yourself, check it out yourself etc.  I may have to go into Detroit in a week or so and I may have time to hit a Lowes then.

Sweet T

They put a Lowes in Brantford, a little closer than the States.
No, it ain't a Hemi.....thank God!

Ghoste

Not for me, I live about 45 miles from Detroit.

Where ever you do find it, buy the aluminum stair case and you will never have to worry about it again.. The wood cases SUCK....... Over time and use the bolts wear threw the wood and it becomes dangerous. With the aluminum case this doesn't happen..

Did I mention I am replacing mine for this reason.. Also due to the way the idiots installed it in the first place.. Make sure you place the case where you will be able to put a good size box up there.. Mine need to be turned 180 degrees and moved back about 2 feet for better clearance.  :rotz: People just don't think....
