where is everyone getting radiators from, im not in a position to buy an aluminum one or an expensive performance one but am in need of something , i currently have a 3184b iwth 26" rad

Err on the side of bigger even on a low-perf car. 

Modern gasoline runs the motors hotter than the old stuff just by definition.  Even when everything in the motor/cooling system is working fine.

The 26 inch core is an excellent start, do you have a good local rad shop that can recore it with some sort of high efficiency setup?

I havent really looked into recoring it, becuase i figured by the time i did that i could buy a new one for about the same cost

That wasn't my experience but it could be one of those things that varies a lot from area to area.  Might be worth checking just to make sure though.
