Hello All,
I am replacing the valve body in my 727 with a reverse pattern full manual  and TCI recommends replacing the ratio lever to a 3.8 or 4.2. They do not sell them. :brickwall:
Does any one know who does and or how much I can expect to pay?

Thanks

Are you sure you do not already have a 3.8 ratio lever? My 1969 big block torqueflight had the 3.8 ratio stock. I believe Mancini racing and Summit racing both carry them. Grumpy

Thanks Guys! I got a 4.2 ordered just now from Summit. They are not the cheepest but I need it now and I was able to order it on line. The best thing about it is that seeing how I live in Hawaii they get to stick it to me with the shipping. YEA!!!!. Oh well...its the price I pay to live in paradise.

Well the ratio lever came in from Summit Racing. The part # on the package is 146900 and it says Shifter Lever, 4:2 Ratio. TF727/904. Now the part on in the package has 5 0 stamped on it. Thanks TCI.  Now may car is stuck taking up rack space as I work this out. My question is however, can I use the 5 0 lever? Will the trans shit harder or at all? I see most of the performance transmission advertised have the 5 0 and the transmission they are building in Modern Muscle has the 5 0 lever.

Thanks for the help and responce. ;)

There have been many reports of TCI supplying a 5.0 lever in place of the 4.2; one phone tech was even quoted as saying "5.0 is just 4.2 rounded off, they're the same thing".   ::) :smilielol:

The 4.2 lever is a factory part found in many 904's, if local shops don't have one laying around try ordering from someone who knows their product, like John Cope.

There's little agreement on the worth of the 5.0 lever, some claim it makes the band release more slowly on the 2-3 upshift and the physics backs that up. The 4.2 seems to be preferred.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Actually I prefer the 3.8 lever, especially for more street than strip... but each to their own.......kim......

Looks like buying a TCI would be better and  cheaper then getting someone to rebuild one for you.  In my case, 2 different guys 5 or 6 attempts at it.
