Suddenly my wipers cant be turned of.. Speed can be changed but they just wont stop.. had to disconect the wiring

Where do I start..?  :-\

WingCharger

Has to be a bad relay that allows power to keep going to them.

Nacho-RT74

3 speeds ?... probably bad ground on cluster OR some wire broken...dunno remember wich one is the one constantly feeded what feeds the oposite movement and the power is cut intenally on motor... I think is blue one

2 speeds ? some wire broken... dunno remember wich one is the one constantly feeded what feeds the oposite movement and the power is cut intenally on motor... I think is blue one.

in both cases, MAYBE switch could get damaged

in both cases, the tab what cuts the power inside the motor could get damaged

I'm showing you all the cases, maybe is not that bad, but need to knwo what motor you have

A piece of plastic came of this wheel..  :icon_smile_angry:
How the h*ll does this thing work..? There´s also some kind of switch on the cover

Nacho-RT74

yeah, there is a switch on the cover... Tab on cover is what cuts the power to motor when system spin on reverse at turning off moment. That happens when after the center of the shaft system ends to make the half turn and relocate to the parking position.

Honestly I can't remember how is every piece inside. I fit a rebuilt kit on the motor I got used just to prevent but the existant what cames inside motor is/was in perfect conditions.

are you sure a piece of plastic actually CAME OFF the assembly ? the gear does have several ramps to make the parking shaft works when motor is on reverse, and inactivate the parking shaft piece when turning on working direction.

the best advice I can give you is get a rebuilt kit and make it by yourself. I got one on $7 ( yeah! unbelieveable ) but that was because who listed on ebay was a GM guy who listed wrong the rebuilt kit, but I have seen them on $20-40 rate, and is a job that you can make by yourtself, no need fro an ENGINEER. kit provides instructions.

what I don't know is if the same kit works for both kinds of motors I have seen... one with a tower on cap, and the other one without the tower  :shruggy:. The motor I got is with a tower, where is the tab/switch assembly

This is the kit and cames with the cap ( is the same I got... take it, is not expensive ), so if your one is without the tower on cap, you won't have any problem, this kits is matching set from gears to cap... and all housings are the same.

However JUST IN CASE you miss this auction I still have the assembly I removed what honestly is in good conditions... also with the cap ( tower kind ), just gasket and grease will be missed. it cames from a 72 PN motor. I can scan the instructions and send it with everything.

Ok.. back to square one  :brickwall: :brickwall:
Found a 73-77 kit on eBay. Not identical to my 72 but the big plastic wheel were the same.
Looking at the service manual I installed the wheel and motor (but not the wiper-arms). Seemed to work fine first.. but after a few minutes the same problem again.. cant be turned of.

Bad news is that the new wheel now also is damaged.. just like the old one  :icon_smile_dissapprove:

Have you figured out the root cause of this issue yet?

No.. gonna search ebay for a new gear.. again  :scratchchin:

I ran the motor without this gear.. all 3 speed modes works fine.. and when I cut the power with the switch on the cover, it stopps.
But cant figure out why the gear keeps getting all messed up
