Looking for info about 48 Chevy 5 window Pickups.

I just bought one for my dad and am looking for a good information resource.

Ive googled a bit and not much luck.

And if you happen to be into them .... then I have a few questions.

Is there a inexpensive front disc brake swap?  Ive read a bit about Using a Mustang 2 front end or an S10, but the details where thin.

Engine and transmission swap?  If it wasnt 2009 he would already have the perfect engine.  He has a 350 4 - bolt with a Manual Granny gear tranny.

But Im thinking something less thristy and an auto with overdrive.


Any ideas?
