AmadeusCharger500

Picked this up few years ago at the local Maaco shop. Seems the owner couldn't pay for the paint job. I knew this was gonna be an extensive project :icon_smile_big: Slow and steady wins though! Just pulled it off the street in Jan this year. Anyway Im just getting ready to put front end parts back together but hit a bit of a trouble spot (posted in chassis/suspension). Thought I might take the time to post some pics. Don't let this pick fool you.

 Thank you moparstuart.
If you need any info on restoring your AmadeusCharger500 please feel free to send me a email. except for the exterior paint, chrome and seatcovers, I ended up doing most of the work in my garage at home and have alot of photo's.  I'm just a truck driver that wanted it done my way and the right way.

AmadeusCharger500

Wow Stuga....that's just amazing...very inspiring. I like your dolly hook up for moving the car around. I settled on mine being in this spot till I get the k-frame issues worked out (posted in chassis section), but I might ask you for that design for future reference.

Here I'm taking pics before removing the remainder bolts for final sanding so I can remember where these go. Then Im gonna give a light coat of primer just so I don't get flash rust as I'm doing the suspension parts and working on the k-frame.

Take 1 I beam and put 2 holes to match your k-member mounts then add 2, 12in swivel air tires from northern tool catalog and presto. but got to warn you it can get real intresting when you take it off the trailer.Did you solve the k-member bolt problem yet. I would keep soaking it with penetrating oil for a couple of days.

AmadeusCharger500

Hah nothing like a car going with a mind of its own!
Nope that bolt is stuck tight, and seeing as there is no way to grab hold of the loose fastener in the frame-rail I'm kinda scratching my head on this one. I did try putting a punch in that hole to wedge the plate tight, lifted it against the rail with a floor jack and tried the impact wrench on the bolt. All that got me was ripping the hole larger. I don't have a welder otherwise I'd cut it out and weld a plate with a nut onto it. As it is the k-frame is going to the local scrap yard (not for recycling!) to have the owner weld reinforcements on it. I'd ask him to come over to weld this mount but seems a bit of a large ask.

Good Luck!!

Looks like those common rust issues with the rear most mounts for the k-frame.
