I remember that morning!
I was getting ready for work and almost about to leave with my first child, when the first plane hit! I could not believe what I saw on the news! On the way to work it was on the radio news, and all I wanted at that point was to get to my desk and get on the computer! I saw several news coverages, and just kept looking all day! At about 2:00, I got a call from my Dad, that my oldest brother was having a couple meetings in one of the twin towers that day!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I freaked out!!!!!!!!! He told me no one can raise him on the phone, due to cell service being jacked up! This went on for many hours! Luckily, at 9pm something(west coast time) I was told my brother had just left one of the towers, less than an hour before the first impact!  I feel blessed!

God bless all that lost their lives on that tragic day! And the family members that have to deal with their loss each day!

Just for the record, the cartoon pictured the prophet Muhammad, not "their" god. Islam, like Judaism and Christianity, is monotheistic. All three worship the same god. Muslims are supposed to respect Christians and Jews as "people of the book." A reference to the Old Testament.

That being said, I'm looking forward to 9/18, when I'll be flying out of Afghanistan.

I remember I was just about to leave for work when they announced a plane hit one of the twin towers. Then they showed (and continued to show) videos of the crash...right then I said to my wife; that was no accident. Then a few minutes go by and another plane flies into the other building.

I think it was a very, very sad day for every American.

I think that country song "where were you when the world stopped turning" is one of the greatest written songs ever.

I tried to go back into the Air Force (I was military police in the Air Force),,,but they said I was too old. (Or out of military service too long). I wanted to do something...I think everyone wanted to do something. Something for our country and those people who died that day.

Did anyone ever see that video they showed on CBS (I think)? It was two brothers from Italy in the USA to film what it takes to become an American firefighter. They were stationed at the fire station that was closest to the trade center when all hell broke loose.
It was really really good. Lots of video without the newscaster type bullcrap.
I'd love to buy that video (DVD) if anyone knows the video I'm talking about. It was about 2 hours long, and I don't think you could watch it with dry eyes.

raybeez, the only thing I could find that was close was this about 2 french brothers and it was on CBS and it's called "9/11", i'm thinking that is what you are referring to.  Problem is Warner bros put out a movie with the same title which is not the one you are looking for.  If the link below is what you are looking for, call or email CBS and request a copy of the video.  My buddy bought one from the today show when his daughter went to New York and was on the show.  Good luck.

Or better yet, it's on again Sunday night at 8:00pm, you can record it.  They have chopped it up because of the language used and the regs nowadays, but like I said you could get a full copy from CBS.

Sorry Mike, I was going to start a thread, but lost track of time the other day. Thanks for starting one bro. 

I was in Houston when it happened. We were loading WWE into the arena. I was in my truck listening to the news about the first plane hitting the tower.......I flipped the TV on to see the video of the plane hitting........not 10 minutes later the second plane hit. To this day , anytime I see that video I get the same sick feeling in my gut.......followed by seething anger.

That day is this generations Pearl Harbor.
