I spoke to Troy on his cell phone twice today. He and his family made it through the storm just fine. No real damage to speak of though some of his neighbors weren't so lucky. He has lost power and is on Generator. As we can see by the news, the city of Houston and the surrounding area took a big hit. Let's hope and pray that any other members here living in the area are fine

Troy will call me again tomorrow and I'll post any developments.

Been thinking 'bout cha' Troy.  I hope you and your family stay safe and dry.  Same for any other Houston area members'.

My Mom says the Houston area Mopar dealerships she's a part of took a pretty hard hit.

I'm sitting in Frankfurt, Germany right now about to head back to the states.  Been texting my wife the entire time.  We're in Spring.  Some shingles off the roof but other than that, no big deal.  No damage and everyone is safe.  Kept telling her where the eye was, when the big rain bands were heading her way.  She lost power at midnight and has plenty of water and food.  I get home monday and glad I have a house to come home to!

Cheers

Thanks guys...........
Back to work now.. So, there's some resemblance to normalcy.. The lines at the gas stations are still long, even at 6:00am in the morning.... As time goes by and more stations get power to pump the fuel, it'll get better... Most people are trying to find fuel for their generators....... I've been lucky so far.. I filled up both my vehicle, including the Charger and our 2 5 gal. cans for the generators.......... Boy, experience is paying off now, no lines for me................. Experience is a great teacher and a LOT of Houstonians who are transplants have learned a valuable lesson..  This will probably go down as the worst Cat.2 Hurricane ever.............

Corpus was supposed to get nailed, but it moved Eastward.. Now, the communities on the Bolivar Pennisula north of Galveston were devastated, literally......  They were on the dirty side of Ike... It's bad...............

We caught the tail end of it here in Ohio. Gusts to the upper 80 mph. Trees are still down, My cable just came back on about an hour ago. A mile down the road, they don't expect to get their lights on till late Sunday and there are still plenty of roads closed with wires and trees down.

It went through the STlouis area, some flash flooding and my rental property got some water in the basement, but other than that we were real lucky here.

We got nailed. I just got power (and water) again yesterday afternoon but the place I work is still shut down. I have no internet access which is killing me. Oh well, we only lost a few trees and the house is fine. Our neighbors definitely had a harder time than we did.
