Computer/Internet problem has me stumped!

Girl I know who is a good friend called me up yesterday needing help. The problem? She can't sign into MSN Messenger, Web Messenger, or Hotmail using the webpage. I thought the problem would go away but 24 hours later problem was still there.

Trying to sign into messenger gives her the error code of "80072efd"

Trying to log into Hotmail from the website displays the page as loading for a long time (shes on high speed) and then Page not found.

Antivirus scan came back negative.

Ive gotten her to try everything from changing option settings to reregistering .dll files.

She is not using a proxy and like stated above, fiddled with those settings to no avail.

Uninstalling and Reinstalling MSN Messenger didn't work.

She can log into her Hotmail from her IPOD just fine.

This one has me baffled! MSN and hotmail worked fine an hour earlier and then the next time she tried using them, nothing.

Make sure the firewall isnt blocking it.

Make sure your time and date are correct.

Tried all the solutions on there there and the first thing I told her to do was check the date and time of the clock I just forgot to add it to the list. Those solutions though only effect msn messenger and not Hotmail.com, this is the part that has my stumped. The error code is just a generic error code that is given every time that "can't log in" message comes up.
