I finally got a rim for a spare tire for my 73 Charger SE.  It's extremely rusty and I'm going to have to have it sand blasted, then painted.  Can anyone tell me the proper color it should be?

BROCK

I seem to recall that if your car had dog dish, AKA poverty hubcaps then the wheels were
body color - even the spare.  So, yeah, usually just black ;D

would dog dish caps have been an option on a 1973 charger se ?

If you want it to look factory original use a semi gloss black. Gloss black is way to shiny for a wheel.

Paul, the Gloss Black that Bill is referring to is the Gloss black of back in the day.  Compared to todays standards, it would be more like a satin black or 30 degree gloss black, same as the power disc brake master and booster set up on Bendix units.
