Missing carbspring

A while back I cleaned out my Eddy 800 AVS carburator and after that I never got it to run anymoore. It stalled and was very weard.
Now I found that I forgot the spring where the acc pump is sitting, the one in the bottom of the carb. Could that have been the reason?

Guess I just have to try it on.

if your referring the spring under the accel pump, thats not gonna have any effect on running. it's simply to aid in the return to top position for the accel pump

What else could go wrong when just lifting the top of a eddy carb? The needles I changed to new ones because I destroyed them.

Everything (including the springs) on the step up pistons went together correctly when you changed the rods?  Didn't alter the float level at all?  Those Carter style carbs are fussy about float levels.

In fact the floatlevel was adjusted, the guy at the shop said it was needed. Don't ask me why, the car was running super before I got some water in the carb.
