I received this from Dodge this evening. I figured it would be fun to stir the pot! ;D

Heads up, TIM

The legend has returned. Now is the time to get a great deal on the 2006 HEMI ®-powered Chargerâ€"a truly modern take on the classic muscle machine, combining muscle car power, sports car handling, and a bold street presence. Throw in a $500 Bonus Cash incentive from Chrysler Financial, and this Charger becomes one great deal.

Choose your weapon:
For just $22,995*, you can pull away in a Charger SE loaded with a 3.5-liter high-output V6, five-speed AutoStick ® transmission, Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with brake assist, and an AM/FM/CD stereo system with four surround-sound speakers.
Starting at $25,995*, the Charger SXT comes packed with all the standard equipment found on SE plus 17-inch machined aluminum wheels and a Boston Acoustic sound system.
For under $30,000*, harness 340 horses of HEMI ® power, set on top of 18-inch polished aluminum wheels in the Charger R/T.
Drive the legendâ€"for less.

:haha:

Ill accept that challenge.. Chrysler can choose the time and place.. I will even let them have a head start, Ill still blow those four doors off the New "Charger"...

You know I bought my Mustang to the local Dodge dealer for an oil change (9.95 all the time) lol, but I was in the showroom looking around and while standing next to a car I asked the sales people if they had a new Charger on the lot.  Their response?  "You are standing next to it".

Of course once I get my 70 going then they want me to bring it to them so they can see it.  They told me they have only sold one Charger and they are not too thrilled with it.

ok, i didn't like the new charger. it's not a charger but when you look at it as just a new car it's nice.   yes it's grown on me.     :shruggy:

I sorta feel the same way. I might have liked the car more if it wasn't called a "Charger"! For a new car it's nice but it doesn't suite it's name.

My Ram was at the dealer last week for some service. They called me and asked if I would come and talk with the tech. I drove my Charger there and parked it right in front of the showroom sort of like it was on display. People were by it the whole time I was there. The most dissapointing thing about it was when the salesman asked me what it was. That is pretty sad.

When you talk about choosing a weapon and the 06 Charger, all I can think of is a car bomb.  I suppose a crusher would be a good weapon too, but the explosive would be more fun.

the first concept they had at the mopar nats in 2001 looked pretty good and was a 2 door i dont know what happend to that ???

69pistolgripRT

In all honesty it is a pretty nice car. I test drove one for the heck of it and it was definetly responsive.
Like many others, I wish they had used a different name for the car; I believe that is really the only hang-up.

The one way it has bothered me is when I search "dodge charger" on ebay and now can't hit highest priced for a quick look at the classic market without wading through a ton of new stuff.

Even if it does make a difference, when you consider the amount of time it takes to design, develop, fund and build an all new car, it will be 2010 before we see any real differences in the product line.

I can't imagine his replacement will look at the American market with any more insight then him.  It's just ho-hum corporate politics as usual.
Then again, maybe it's time for the glass to be half full again huh?

I heard Lee Iacoca is coming back. He's bringing back the K car with two doors. :icon_smile_big:

Nah just kidding. ;D

Ghoste

Well, Lee had his own vision too didn't he?  He gave us the Omnicharger and the Farrah Mustang.  He likes sporty looks but low performance for the most part I think.  But that's thread hijacking.
