I install the new aluminum heads from 440source.com.  I was prelubing the engine since i put in new rocker arms and oil pump.  I am getting oil pressure and flow to the cam and main bearings(as indicated on the gage) but I am not getting any oil flow to the heads.  I removed the middle studs from the rocker shafts and they are bone dry(other than prelube).

Any ideas why no oil flow to heads??  My only thoughts are that they did not machine the hole in the heads for the oil passage up from the block or the gasket is missing its hole?  Proform gaskets.

I thought the oil went through the pushrod? There better be drain holes in the gaskets or it will fill up. You did match the gaskets to the head and block before installing?

you need to rotate the engine.the oil for the heads are thru the camshaft.when you turn it over it will line up the holes so the oil can flow-thru.

Common mistake...  It's good that you caught it though... Means you were paying attention...  :2thumbs:

thanks for the help everyone.  I finally found the spot.  It took a couple times even with the shop manual.  I pulled the head and gasket just to be safe.  Everyhting OK.  Thanks again.
