THE COLONEL

The Colonel will be going in for a heart transplant, and some upgrades in the next few weeks.  It was going to be last year, but the money I had was what it was going to cost, so I have saved up more this year, and we are ready to go.  I'll keep ya'll updated on everything, but here are a couple pictures of it now.

The guy doing it, works for Chrysler, and has raced, and built engines for decades, so there is no mistaking his ability to build.  You have to know him for him to do this too, as he won't build an engine for any Joe Schmoe.  Here is what we will be doing.

The matching number 318 will be staying with The Colonel.  As much as I want a big block, this will be best for The Colonel, and myself and family.  I've thought about it for a while, and in the last month or so, came to that conclusion.  It saves from buying all new stuff, when I already have most of it, so that is money in the bank there!

The engine bay, and under side of the hood, will get media blasted and painted black.  For one, if I end up doing a General Lee in the years down the road, it will be (semi) correct!   The black will also match the color scheme of The Colonel now.  The underside of the car will also be steamed cleaned to get all the crap off.  I don't think the underside of the car has ever been cleaned like that.  A new exhaust will also be going in, the front end will be rebuilt, and I will upgrade to front disc brakes.  Basically verything from the dorrs and forward will be new.  Little stuff like the headers will be ceramic coated so it will last forever.  Anyway, as more details come, I will add to the post!!

In a nutshell it will mostly be stock.  He said he will get about 330hp out of it when finished.  I'm not one to race on the drag strips, so I don't need the modified big block, and 99% of the time, I have 3 of my kids with me too, so I just like to cruise with them........but I am excited about this!!!!!!

If you're interested in a set of 360 heads, I have some extras.

It's not a midlife crisis, it's my second adolescence.

Thanks for the offer.  We will be hashing out the details of that stuff soon.  I'll see what he says.....and what he already has.
