So what does everyone think the new Fast and the Furious movie will do for us?

Is your freind's Model A a streetrod? Street rods are easily outdated, so they don't hold their value very well, and no stock Model A is worth 40K....unless it's a "Historically significant" hotrod from the past.....or possibly a perfectly restored, rare model. But, Model A bodies are going UP in price, as more people are building "traditional" hotrods....If you're not into this kinda stuff, you'd never know it.... 
Having X amount of money tied up into a car doesn't set it's worth....you can put 20G's into a mid 70's 4 door Nova, but it ain't a 20K car....same goes for Model A's....

I don't know?  But they are up because of building the hot rods not for what they were originally?  Got me?  Moving on, thanks for the info.

You don't get out much do you? Model A prices are climbing....sure, restored ones are a good deal, but projects are climbing like crazy, as '32-34's are bringing BIG $$$, which raises prices of lesser models. Most of the people that are into these cars HAVE NOT passed.

Here in Kansas, you used to be able to find lots of Model As and Ts sitting out in fields and barns when I was growing up.  As time passed, more and more of them were shipped out for someone to build a hot rod from.  Nowdays, it is fairly rare to find them just sitting out anymore.  The few that have them usually hold on to them just like we do our Chargers.  Joshua has it right, as the prices on the 32-34s have been going up for some time due to the hot rod culture influence.  I was just lucky to get my hands on a rough 32 5-window coupe body shell when I did (for a AG clone) because now there are none of those around my area anymore period. Even the old pre-WWII licence plates for them are expensive, since you have to contend with licence plate collectors, historical bluffs, etc. to get one.  Hot rod kits have been fabricated out of either fiberglass or carbon fiber for quite some time, since the real steel bodies are such a pita to find.......

Anything that makes the price of Chargers go up is okay with me. Just being honest.

  Thats cool if you own all the chargers you ever want to own , but if your a horder like me I like them cheaper .

well if the new one is like toyko drift, its gonna suck. i hate that movie. my favorite has got to be the first one, i like the second but wish it had some more of the orginal movie characters in it, maybe continue the story line in LA instead of swtiching focus to miami. just my

As for F&F IV, I think it will just cause alot more kids to think that they could pick up a similar Charger and become the new king of the street on their budget (just not going to happen).

I agree with you on the entire statement. Im 25, I "baught" a challenger (which is going to be sold and replaced with a 68 charger that drives) and when I wanted to go restore the thing frame up every nut and bolt new... 100 000 dollars would have to be spent.

Then I realised "crap" 

30k will get you a decent driving car, after that, its $$$

thats why i got a 3rd gen, i love the 2nd gen chargers and the 70 cuda but i couldnt afford the parts, especially when your looking at 1000 bucks just for the trunk lid. 3rd gens are a little cheapr
