When to go change my gear oil.  The only plug I can find is on the back cover.  The manual shows there is another one on the bottom.....but not on mine.  Rear end should be original 1969. So if I only have the one plug how an I suppose to drain it?
I'm also using Royal Purple 75w90.  I called the company and they said I will not need to put any other additives in, sound right?
No, it ain't a Hemi.....thank God!

loosen all the bolts on the back cover... emplace a drip pan... pry the back cover slightly with a screwdriver and voila.. it will drain the gear oil.  the back plug is to add gear oil, not drain it.

royal purple is a good gear oil and no you will not need to put in any additives.

good luck.

On a Dana 60, there is a drain plug on the bottom of the case. I use sta-lube 80-90 gear oil with Mopar Limited Slip Additive Friction Modifier.

'66-'68 had the drain plug, it was omitted on later units.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I was thinking 1966 + 1967 had the drain, but maybe 1968's didn't as well.

I know 1969's did NOT have the drain, regardless of what the manual shows

Wow, thanks for all the help, the picture in the service manual threw me for a loop.  Thanks everyone, I gotta have her running smooth for the weekend.
