Hi everyone. I pretty lost when it comes to rear ends/leafsprings. I have a 68 charger body. its gonna be a rebuilt to a street car. Not total drag or perfect restoration. I don't have a rear end or leaf springs. Im looking for one. I live in MN in case one of you also live here and is selling one. What rear end should I be looking for. I know I need a 8 3/4, 5/big bolt. I'm not sure about housing, not worried about gear ratio. Think it would need to be trimmed or cut later to make it narrow to fit wider tires but not sure if it has to be. Not sure of the bends on the leaf spring, and parts needed to install it. I could use all the help I can get on this one.

welcome... go to www.manciniracing.com

find XHD leaf springs and use those.  secondly, get with BLOWN70 or MOPARGUY01.  They are up near you and can assist you in finding a 8 3/4 that will fit your year so you do NOT have to modify one.

lastly, if you can, find a 742 case as they are easier to set up than 489's which incorporate a crush sleeve (though they have a spacer now that you can install to alleviate this sleeve; i am only saying 742 for simplicity, but it doesnt mean you will find one).

Your bolt pattern should be 5" x 4 1/2"
