Head Bolt Choices??

The two choices I found for Head Bolts are shown below:

I spoke to Summit and was told that most people get the ARP-145-3606,  with Stock or  Edelbrock RPM heads, but didn't know what the difference was.

I called ARP direct and their REP checked and said that they appear to be the same, that I should get the ARP-145-3606 and save a few $.

My Question is:  Does anyone know of any reason not to use the ARP-145-3606 or the ARP-145-3706 (12 point) with the e-heads?  Is there a difference?

ARP-145-3606 for the 440 Stock Heads:  $67.95         OR    ARP-145-3706 (12 point) $67.95
ARP-145-3608 with the Edelbrock RPM heads $81.88

I just checked my Summit order and I used the 3606 set to bolt on my Mopar Performance aluminum heads. My builder didn't say anything about it. Don't really know if their is a difference. If you use the comparison feature on Summit's website, they both have the exact same description and strength, They just list 3608 for Edelbrock RPM heads and 3606 for stock. :shruggy:

Runner, both of the sets listed are ARP sets. It is just that one says they are for stock heads and one says they are for Edelbrock RPM (aluminum heads) and we are wondering what the difference in the bolt sets really is, because the stock set(3606) is the $67 set and the set for aluminum heads(3608) is $81.

I used ARP head studs with my Edelbrock heads.

The Edelbrock head bolts are just repackaged ARP bolts. With the aluminum aftermarket heads you need a smaller hex head to clear the recesses in the casting. The 12 point are easy to work with.

Thank You!
Then I will order the ARP-145-3706 12 pt head bolts.  They are listed for the stock heads and I am interpreting the above reply that they should also be good for the edelbrock RPM aluminum heads.
