New cam caused my power brakes to go bye bye

I put in a new cam last month and noticed my power breaks are gone.  For the last two weeks I have been thinking it was something to do with my booster but then I found out that my vacuum is way way lower than it was before the cam change.

Do you guys have any info on a vacuum booster or pump that I can use to get my vacuum pressure back to what it was before the cam change?

thanks.

Summit Racing sells Vacume storage canisters. It stores vacume pressure for when you need to use your brakes. They're about the size of a medium coffee can and have a gage on top, kinda looks like a cool can. I used one before and they work fine.

About 5 yrs. ago I swapped cams and had the same problem. Those vacuum cans are junk. You would be able to press the pedal once and all the vacuum would be gone. The electric pump is good but noisy. I ended up pulling my booster and changed my master cynlinder. I am running manual disc now.

A hydrobooster would cure that!!

Whats that?

:popcrn:

Read all about it here.   http://www.hydratechbraking.com/

It's basically using your power steering to create the power assit instead of the vacuum power booster.

I know my 70 Charger has got a Racer Brown Cam with .547" lift & I think 292 duration if I remember right (advertised not at .500) & have the same problem with my power brakes, nothing there, or not much. LEON.

Hydroboost is a GM thang.

But it works very very well.  Ask Mr. Angry, he uses it on his 68.
