A Superbird in a farm field? Can it be true in 2008? Nope, not yet.

Well, I called Jim today.  He said he has not heard people talk of that bird in the field for 5 or 6 years now, and it's probably gone.  He said he bought a 70 440/6 Charger in bridgeport about 6 years ago for 6k and a 440/6 Challenger about the same time in Waterbury Ct for 3k.  No Hemi Charger. The End.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

TheAutoArchaeologist

No, sadly the car isn't for sale.  The other 15 road runners and 20 chargers he had lying around were, but he wanted way over what they were worth.

Just a thought, guy might have had the address wrong, might want to check with neighbors in the vicinity. Also, not saying to post pics on here, but if you wanted to scout the surrounding area I recommend using this site (http://maps.live.com/) since it has a "birds eye view" that puts you view that looks like you took a picture from a helicopter. And you can rotate the view to look at it from different angles. Google maps might have something similar by now, I just remember this site being one of the first I found to do so.

The two birds in Winthrop/Readfield are no longer there. I`ve seen them years ago, talked to the owner in the not too distant past and he said they were both sold to a buyer in the midwest who wished to remain anonomous.

Are my eyes tricking me or is there a yellow something behind the trees?

Those are old pics from the carsinbarns site.

Maybe, but I have the originals...    They were posted on Moparts a few years ago on the massive wing car thread.

What does Cars in Barns say about them?     They are from the 80's but have no description.

WingCharger

I saw that on cars in barns too. :'(

That wing is probably in some MoPar collectors barn right now.
Seems the wings are worth more seperated than attached to the car anymore.

I just saw that too.  Wingo is creeping up on him though.  Cody has been busy working on his CHarger.   :icon_smile_big:

Here is a car that started out sounding really good...    My dad and I went to check this out in Appleton Wisconsin.  Would have been about 1977.    Dad had heard about a Superbird race car that was available.    We got directions and on a snowy day off we went, about 100 miles.    Well, it turned out it was a wild goose chase and was a Road Runner with a wing and stock front clip.     I don't remember the chassis details, but our quick once over determined it was most likely built from a street B-body by Goober and Gomer.      You gotta check out those leads though...
