I found a old Ford Bronco and narrowed it down to be between a '69 to '72 model.
I did a quick walk around but couldn't get close due to a swarm of 3" long black wasps (they have a bunch of nests hanging from the roof inside)
Anyway, it looks like its been sitting a long time, 74,000 miles, the body is really solid and looks like original orange paint.
The problem, how can I tell what year it is?
I know this is a Dodge Charger forum, but I thought maybe someone here knows a little about these cool little 4x4's.

I cant get out there again to get pics until later this week.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Try this place for starters. They restore early Bronco's I know, I lived next to them for 8 years. Not sure on what years are what myself, but they are cool rigs.

Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

Those years practically all look the same.
Look at the tailight lenses, original ones usually had a number like -   XXXXXX-73  , where the 73 denoted the model year.
Early versions had vacuum wipers. I believe by 69 they were mechanical wipers.
Mechanically in terms of axles, tranny, etc , they got stronger components in the final years, about 74 thru 77.

Actually, like any American car, that just means the first year they started using that particular lens. ;)
If there is a design change on that lens, like the addition of a backup lens, or reflector, then that year is stamped into the plastic & stays there until there's another design change & the manufacturer has to pass DOT approval again.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Well in that case your probably Sh*t out of luck by looking at the lenses. The body styles are practically identical from 1966 thru 1977 .
Except that 1977 had square fuel door covers.

Hmmmn, that lense deal has worked for me in the past, probably on old car lines where they changed the front or back end just slightly each year...
