question regarding Ebay and Paypal

hey, so I just sold my a833 hemi 4 speed on ebay. The guy that purchased it sent me a paypal payment right away. I am curious about one thing. The user has no feedback or history on ebay at all. Now I know that everyone has to sart from zero but is there anyway that I can get screwed over on this transaction?

You must ship to a confirmed address..log into your PP account and read seller requirements for you to be covered by PP ....if you ship your item to an unconfirmed address and no tracking the buyer can easily state the item was not as described and would likely get his money back...PP sides with the buyer if all the requirements are not met....read the discusion boards on eBay..they are a good source of what to do when selling with PP

Get a tracking #. I've been screwed by a buyer because I didn't get tracking through USPS. The buyer filed a claim a few days after the auction ended, after he knew I shipped the package. Paypal sided with him because I didn't have tracking, even though he was doing this to other sellers at the same time and Paypal knew it. His Ebay acount was soon canceled but I never got my money back. I learned that Ebay and Paypal (same company by the way) don't give a sh*t about sellers.

Ya I have read lots of issues about paypal not caring about the customer, they just care about the money. Thats why I wanted to be extra carefull on this transaction, a new user plus a decently expencive item ($1200) just worried me a little. I found his address is confermed so I suppose I am safe.

For big ticket items, I pay for the signature feature offered by the post office or courier.

It's usually only a buck or two and it gives you proof that the item was received in good order - they shouldnt' sign for it if it arrives all busted up.

I'm out over 1000 dollars for a hemi trans i bought from a guy on ebag and paid by pp, I only got back what it was covered for on ebag.

Just be sure to purchase shipping insurance and delivery confirmation. That way he can't claim that you never shipped the item. I would also try to get a phone number that you can reach him at.

Yea, I'd get the works. Delivery confirmation, signature confirmation, certified, registered, etc. Create the largest paper trail possible and then save it in a file for a long time.
