Thank you for your votes guys! It is pretty cool to be considered for the Musclecar of the Year. I must admit that there are some other neat cars in contention, as well.

I celebrated the nomination by buying 10 gallons of 100 octane leaded aircraft fuel and throwing it in the tank.

""In 1969, there was some prohibition at Chrysler against ordering the R/T SE with the Hemi," Segal said. "There was an actual asterisk on the order sheet in 1969. Why, I don't know; Chrysler would just do dumb things like that back then. But the 1970 order sheet had no asterisk, so they lifted the ban, but they didn't seem to advertise it or tell anybody," Segal said. "

Thanks. The Ehnats, both the father and son, are great people. The son was the one who found the entire file and just sent it to me out of the blue. Can you imagine what someone today would try to make you pay for gold like that? The father was one of the original mechanics at Suburban Dodge who worked on the car when it was new. He said the original owner blew the clutch the second day they had the car and he had to do the warranty work on it. I actually had the father fill in my yellow antifreeze decal on the radiator support a few years back. I even photographed him doing it. How is that for originality? - having the Day 1, original mechanic redo your dealer prep decal!

Every time I go to a show, the two of them always seem to pop up like a genie in a bottle. I cant count how many times I have been parked somewhere, opened the trunk and then turn around and they are standing there. (que the Twilight Zone theme now)
If you dont believe me, here is a photo at the 2004 Chryslers at Carlisle. I had just set up my display and opened the trunk to get my camera to take a photo and I turned around and there they were:

I still keep in touch with both of the Ehnats since we live about 25 miles apart. This is something John Ehnat found at the dealership last year - the original 1970 rear bumper dealer sticker. It was on the underside of an aluminum step ladder! He photographed it and sent me the picture and I had the decal reproduced by ECS Automotive. (ECS now uses this original pattern to remake other dealers stickers as well if you want them to).
