Is there anything specific that I should look for? Any strange rust traps? Rare parts? This is a original 318 car, now with a 440. In the same trip I'm following up a lead on a '69 charger but I think I know what to look for the 2nd Gens. Thats if I'm even able to find it.

Thanks for any input, Scott

I think spots are more less the same on all 60s/70s USA cars. Althought I have noticed rusted trunk floors are more problematic on 2nd gens than 3rd gens. Maybe becasue the gas filler tube location ?

if FULL Vinyl top, maybe the "dutchman panel" is something to check and that's diff from 2nd gens.
Venezuelan RT 74 400 4bbl, 727, 8.75 3.23 open. Now stroked with 440 crank and 3.55 SG. Here is the History and how is actually: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,7603.0/all.html

Thanks for the heads up. I figured it would mostly be the same. Are there any really hard to find parts I should look for?

He means things that he should look for missing that would be hard or expensive to replace.

:iagree: sorry I kind of worded it weird.

NHCharger

I have two 72 Charger's, one a parts car. One sat for 18 in a damp barn, one sat for 14 years in a parking lot waiting to be restored (parts car). Some areas they both rusted in the same spot and some were totally different.
One spot many people miss is the cowl area. There is a rubber flap that covers the cowl drain on the fire wall behind the engine. If that drain is plugged, water gets trapped, plus damp leaves and moist dirt =rust.

Body parts of course are allmost imposible, except for front and trunk floor boards. Still not decent parts for these. Specially 71/72. 73/74 have at least quarter patch panels being sold by Tabco
