Which is best to get the correct geometry/ lifter preload.
- Rockershaft shims
- custom length pushrods
- adjustable pushrods

Adjustable pushrods might be the easiest, but are they as strong/light as conventional pushrods?

I prefer custom length push rods to adjustable push rods for longevity and worry-free behavior, although I've never had an adjustable fail on me, but I get kinda nervous when its at 6k RPM. either way they are fairly inexpensive.

If its more of a street/strip build I would get new pushrods just to be safe. I have heard of people using adjustable pushrods but I didn't like the idea of those unless its a very mild or stock build. Same goes for the rocker shaft shims in my mind, I wouldn't use them but if I did, it would be on a  mild or stockish build.      :Twocents:    :Twocents:  I would get the correct pushrods.

Thanks,

I'll go for custom length pushrods then.

I'm going to add the shims from mancini racing, to get back the same height that I'll mill on heads. Mild engine built for street use, but not enough money right now for rest of options or adjustable rockers
