is there anyway to repair a few small spots on a vinyl top that are lifting without redoing the top?

Never done it, but I would think if you could get a syringe and inject a little glue underneath this would fix it.  I am sure somebody has a fix on here.

I tried to use a syringe before, didn't work that well. glue came out on top and then I cleaned it with the only thing that would take it off...reducer. The reducer also removed the dye from the vynal top so I had to respray the vynal top.

In short if it's lifting it's old, if it's old replace it properly IMO

If the vinyl is lifting, it may be because there is rust there.

I had a car a few years ago that had the same problem. I got a can of spray adhesive at the auto store, and made sure it had one of those little red extensions. I made a tiny hole in the vinyl with an awl, stuck the extension in it, and sprayed a little in all directions. Then I used a small paint roller to roll over top the lifted part to spread the glue around a little, and to press the vinyl down. I rolled it in all directions, but on the final roll, I rolled everything toward the hold to make sure there wasnt any air trapped underneath. Next day, I put a tiny dab of black sealer over the hole. I sold the car a year later, and it still looked ok.

no, there is no rust, its a new top install on a really nice charger. It was my first top install and I think I must have not put down enough glue in a few small areas. And I unfortunatly didnt notice it until I got all the glass and trim back in place  :brickwall:

What color is it?  I'd try the syringe method first myself but I'd be careful about the top discoloration thing.

How long has the new top been on the car? I have seen a few newly installed vinyl tops, and none of them looked good until they have had some time in the sun to smooth out.

Its been on the car about 2-3 weeks, I havent let it sit in the sun yet since the car isnt movable at the moment. Maybe I should hook up the brakes

Maybe get it out in the sun to get it hot then take a roller and roll towards the areas that need adhesion it.  :shruggy:
