THE CHARGER PUNK

u know that the general lee engine bay is supposed to be black as you can see in every episode and the car was originally painted black and they kept everything closed so door jams, trunk and aengine bay were all black-MATT

MoparMotel

VERY nice car............but no Vectors?

Love the Keystones on the Charger. Not a fan at all of the Victors.

Well done!  That looks great.  :2thumbs:

Brock Samson

Looked alot better in black. change it back.

Dale The Bold

I went back and forth on the engine bay color before making a final decision.  I went with the same thing you did, and I never looked back.

Most of the cars built for the series were thrown together and probably had every color imaginable under the hood, so accuracy really isn't an issue.  Just tell people you built a replica of a series used General Lee that was originally orange.   ;)
Matt. 14:8 (KJV) "And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, 'give me here John Baptist's head in a Charger.'"

General_01

I like the look of all orange better than black. The '71 is Citroen Yellow with a flat black engine bay, so I already got one with a black engine bay. If Bo and Luke come and buy the car, they can have Cooter change it back to black if they want. :icon_smile_big:

Ken, I like the Keystones also, but I did put Vectors on it after this pic was taken. I still have the keystones though. I like them and if I ever change the paint scheme on the car I will use them.

Thanks again for the comments.

I think I have seen you around before driving down HWY 65 in front of Johns auto parts.   Were you at the charger picnic in maple grove?

I had the 72 charger that was blue with a white vinyl top.  Do you have any pics of any of the cars there?

He was in the process of buying a new computer, his old one froze up and he lost everything.  He doesnt come on here too often.  I have his number if you want it.  I was just there this weekend....

I will try sending him another pm.  It is not a big deal or anything, I just thought it might be cool to see some pics from that day.

tipopiola

I was there too, but don't have any pics.  I'm sure that Lee would have some.  Thats cool that that there are this many on the board from the frigid Twin Cities area.  Maybe in another 15-20 years my car will be put back together and I can drive that to the picnic instead of my wifes neon.   :icon_smile_big:  It would be cool to have a Charger night at the Anoka show or the St. Paul show.  Tipopiola :icon_smile_big:
