I have a leak after I wash the car and it is a good bit of water dripping on the floor board on the drivers side. My fisrt thought is that they did not get a good seal with the new windshield. But it is a good bit of water. Where else could it be leaking from?

If it was my car, I would say it was leaking through any of the numerous rust holes in the body. You might have to pay a pro to do a leak test if you can't find it on your own.  :Twocents:

Could be the seal for the windshield wiper pivot is shot as well.

Wiper pivot is my first guess.  The factory ones were not too good.

Is the car air conditioned?  It might be A/C condensate as well.
I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.

I agree, probably the wiper pivots if they've never been changed.

non air only leaks in one spot it also leaks more than you would think a windshield seal being bad would leak.

the windshield wiper shaft seals have been a trouble spot since these cars were new...have seen it MANY times... :Twocents: :Twocents:

Another area to check is the door seals around the front of the door.  I've seen several B bodies leak around them.

Going to take two people. Have the more agile one lay on his back looking up at wiper pivot while the second one runs a hose over the pivot. Start at the low point and if nothing happens there have him run the hose up to the wind shield and then work his way across the wind shield. Should be able to see where it is running in. If it isn't one of those 2 spots might be a rusty hole but I doubt that..
Best of luck..

I had two leaks on my 72 Charger.
1. Rusted area on fire wall.
2. Threaded stud for back fender mount was missing. Some genius ran a 5" bolt down through it to hold the fender on and proceeded to punch a hole in the cowl which caused water to leak down through the air vent.

As mentioned above it's a two person job. Start low, work your way up.

I think you were right the first time, the new windshield gaskets arent as thick as the old ones.... mine is leaking aswell, but on the passenger side.

Not sure this could be your problem but I have noticed that the furthest rearward attachment that holds the fender to the cowl (installs vertically) must be a specific, short bolt without a starter nub.  If too long (typical of fender bolts) it can punch a hole into your cowl.  It happened on both sides of my car.  If that is the case your leak would be coming through your fresh air plenums as the two holes in question are directly above the inlets.
