Disc.brake distribution block? dazed and confused........

O.k. I know another brake question? Anyhow, i did a search and did not find the two in the pic below. Bought the valves on line, not what i expected. Has anyone used these two valves or should ther be a third one on the frame rail. If any used the two in the setup, do you have a pic of what line goes where?

What kind of a brake system do you have... Disc/Drum... Disc/Disc ?

The setup in the picture you posted is used in a Disc/Drum system.

oops! I have the A- Body front spindle conversion. So its disc up front and 10 inch drums in the rear.

If the car was originally a 4 wheel drum vehicle, you can use the standard (drum brake) distribution block and add on an adjustable proportioning valve which can be mounted anywhere between the block and the back brakes.

I mounted mine just after the block against the frame rail for easy access and adjustment.  :Twocents:

If you have a Disc/Drum system now, that valve setup will work for you OK. Your old system just used a Hydraulic switch ( idiot light switch) mounted within the distribution block, but that won't do for a Disc/Drum setup. In your picture, the assembly on the top is a combination "Proportioning Valve for the rear drums and a Hydraulic Switch (distribution block)". The bottom piece in your picture is a Metering Valve for the front disc's, which is sometimes referred to as a Hold-Off valve. It's function is to "Hold-Off" on the front disc brakes until the rear drums have had a chance to engage (brake shoes have to move a lot further to engage the brake drums than the pads on the front disc's)
