Pretty rare beast as I understand it. In pretty good shape but needs some work and finishing.  Will post pics when I can.

Now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical,
      a liberal, oh fanatical, criminal.
Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're
acceptable, respectable, oh presentable, a vegetable!

Right on dude, shrink your pics to 600 X 440 & keep them under 200kb's. That should make your pics easy to post.

1972Rallye

Hey... I got one of them too!  Seriously, they are a bit scarce.. so congrats!   :2thumbs:

I have a lot of info about these cars (I'm a serious '72 Rallye geek) that I'm willing to share. Now then... PICS!  We all love pics here and it's not fair to tease us like that.

Thanks guys.  It's in pretty decent shape, missing some trim stuff and I took the crappy headliner out......stops and turns ok....goes fast in straight line...lol...

It's FE5(?) red, with the correct hood black out and Rallye doors and decals, but the 71 side stripe.  I'll post pictures next weekend.

First question.  I took off the aftermarket Edelbrock valve covers and replaced with Mopar Performance black ones and the right bank is leaking like a sieve at the back, all over the starter. Any secret to getting these to seal up? I used RTV on both sides of the gasket and let it set up for a bit before tightening.....sucker still leaks terrible.

FLG

Cork gasket or rubber?

If its rubber try tightening a bit, if its cork you might have over tightened it or the gasket might have slipped over when you put it on. Take the cover off, clean and inspect everything. If the gasket still good, try again.

  I am new to the board as well and I have '72, not a Rallye.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

That would be great!  I only have nine 440 - 4 speed cars in my informal registry. Two of those are FE5 Red and neither of those have stripes like you mentioned.  I'd love to hear more about it (other options, etc.)! I can help with decoding if needed.

Glad to see the number of 3rd gens grow here.

I'll just referee any 2nd gen against 3rd gen competitions, since I have & love both :2thumbs:

there's always somebody just a little bit wierder than you are. I love the 72 440 rallye chargers, but i'm a little bit too specialized in my preferences. What is the VIN on your car? I ask because I love the coupes, the rarest (but not necessarily the most desireable) of the 72 440 chargers. The coupe VIN will start WL21, while the hardtop will start out WH23.
welcome to the board!

1972Rallye, here's what the plate says:

26                               N23
FE5      I        V21 C16
FE5 E6X9  TX9 609 E36921
E86 D21 WH23 U2A 204833

Anything you can tell me about the car would be great (other than it's a fake! lol....)
