Oil pan center link question...again

About 3 mos ago (400 miles) I had my K member replaced due to loss of center link clearance ($1200 for a used k member/new motor mounts). When I left the shop I had about 1/4" clearance. Today I noted a small oil leak. Now I again have direct contact and have probably worn into my oil pan. I am preparing for the run around from the shop. Has anybody had any experience using the "factory fix" of using shims to raise the engine? I understand this may affect handling, but I have a 70 B body and taking turns at speed isn't in my plans. Would poly instead of rubber motor mounts give more support? THANKS

Its most likely that my engine mounts on my charger are SHOT, but there is over a half and inch clearance at the Minimum. I have no idea what is wrong with your car! Maybe have some incorrect parts down there?

I got the car back today. The mechanic who is very familar with the breed (had a 68 GTX, 71 Roadrunner in the shop), thinks it is the trans mount. He manipulated it and I now have about a .25". I ordered a poly trans mount and will settle for the 1/4". The only thing I can think of is the second K member also was not "dead nuts on".

that still dosent sound anywhere near right, anybody got some better knowledge?

Mods?

I am still open to further suggestions. From what I have read its either the K member or the K member! I am going to also replace the new rubber motor mounts with poly units (as well as the poly trans mount).

Where are the mods on this? Come'on guys!
