Thanks Mike, I will stick with the 60302 then.
Indeed it is intended as a street build, and I've already invested much more in the engine than it's worth.- even before the steatlh heads were purchased.
All in it would have been cheaper to buy a 426hemi crate engine after the accident. :eyes: :flame:

I have to agree with Mike....the 302 cam is a better choice for this application. The wider 112* lsa will stretch out the powerband and give you both good torque and good horsepower. You want strong bottom end power with a heavy car and shallow gearing.  ;)

The biggest mistake most guys make is overcamming....then they wonder why the car won't spin the tires and feels like a pooch.  :P

That cam will work great in your engine and pull hard to 6k if you decide to push it that hard.  :2thumbs:

Frederick, you were right originally....the 301 is the correct choice for a basicly stock 8.5:1 compression 383 build.  :yesnod:

With another point of compression and better flowing heads you should step the cam up a notch....and you've done that with the 302 grind.   :2thumbs:

Good choice....you will be happy with the results !  :icon_smile_big:
