Been hanging out on Moparts and someone suggested I swing over to here and check things out. Hope to be some help and perhaps join in on interesting conversation and certainly learn some things. I have '72 Charger which has become my favorite so far of what I have owned. I have also had a 383, '67 Coronet 500 and a 318, '74 Plymouth Brougham. I live near Lexington, KY and attend the Nats every year. My Charger is a restomod project so I am always looking for parts.
PS I am having a little trouble getting a picture to reduce to 200KB.

I bought the car from the widow of the original owner. It was completely bone stock except for a new paint job 16 years ago. I wet sanded and buffed out the paint and made way for the wheels. I am freshing up the interior as we speak. Right now the engine is the orginal 318 with 69,000 miles.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I didn't have a car there for mopar month, but I had my black '69 charger there last month.
So if you see a black '69 or a red '71 charger there, it's prob. me  ;)

I'm really not into third gen's but when seeing yours really made me instantly say "awesome car dude".

Oh and BTW welcome here, more parts here, than you can afford ever month. At least the knowlege here is cheaper  :2thumbs:
Greetings from Belgium, the beer country

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

I still need to drop the car 1" all the way around this Winter but I have to modify a bracket in the front fender. The paint is nice but it is 16 years old. The car is very solid and nice to drive but it is not a show stopper.

Foreman72

yeah man its the truth...its a very comforting verse...

but yeah post up them pics...i'd love 2 see the inside...whats it got under the hood?

Nothing to see on the inside except a very clean, black original bench seat. I swapped the clock out for a tach. from Charger Specialties. I will post pictures perhaps next month 'cause right now I am having custom bucket seats made with matching rear covers. As far as the engine it is still a 69,000 mile 318 2v. It runs really good and never fails to start and I got 17 mpg going to the Nats and back even with 3.55:1 gears. I have a cam, intake and 4v carb for the 318 but I am in no big hurry to install those. I also have 440 and a 727 to build for it but not convinced that is what I want either. When the time is right I really want to do a 5.7 hemi transplant. So I keep watching and listening to these other guys who are doing swaps and learning what I can. So, what about your '72?

Foreman72

HOLD EVERYTHING!!! If you could snap a few of the interior that would be great...particularly the dash area...I have the same set up but mine is a little banged up and i'm trying to compile as many pics of clean interiors w/ bench seats as I can..i'm planning on doing an aftermarket tac cuz they didn't make tic-toc-tacs in 72 and that's really what I want...but I like the look of the aftermarket as well...so you can send them to me on a PM if you want or emial...
Sound like big plans for yours huh...that hemi is gonna be sweet...i'm partial to that 318 tho...i got big plans for mine :coolgleamA:

...check this one out...its one of the best 3rd gens I've ever seen... :drool5:
http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,41473.0.html

So my charger... :D
My uncle gave it to me last year, it used to be his car back in the day...he took really good care of it but when he got a new one he parked it in my aunts barn and its been there since...thirteen years later he gave me the keys...I lost my mind...I got instantly hooked...picked up every piece of info I could, studied parts books, websites, gathered all the history I could about it, joined the forum

Unfortunately it has to stay in the barn cuz I don't have a place to put it right now, I live in NH and its in mass so I'm kinda out of luck there...plus I'm going to be a senior this year so its not exactly a top priority right now...but before I go to college I want to know its resting safely someplace...

The plans are as follows (some are more concrete then others)
-bring the 318 up to 400hp...
(if your interested http://www.popularhotrodding.com/enginemasters/articles/mopar/0667em_mopar_318_engine/index.html)
...thrown to a 727 w/ a B&M transpack kit & ratchet shifter and finishing in a 8 ¾ rear w/ a suregrip and 3.55's

-stiffen the suspension w/ .960 t-bars, 6 leaf R/T springs, 4 wheel discs, (whatever else needs to be fixed will be upgraded to HD stock/police strength, 13 yrs on a dirt floor can do a number on a car)

-bring the interior to original save the tach, shifter, stainless column and tuft wheel ( and the pioneer/infinity audio system; I'm a huge audiophile as well :D)

-paint the car f8 green w/ cragar ss wheels, front spoiler, black superbee wrap-around stripe, possible grille blackout

So that's mine I guess...I can't wait to star diggin in
